How to transfer my cannon zr 85 to my macbook

I just purchaged a macbook. It doesn't have a firewire connection. It only has usb. I have a cannon z85 digital video camera. I am told by cannon the only way to transfer the videos is by using a firewire. I need a solution to this problem.

-   i dont have a firewire connection either. i just bought the new aluminum macbook and dont know how to transfer the video from my canon zr85. i went to best buy and heard about the pinnacle video transfer thing but i dont know if anyone has used it and could give me some more information on it. thank you-   exodus9537
