Most Toshiba 6100s come standard with wireless cards installed. If you're unsure, just turn on the WiFI antenna switch (near its SD card slot) and see if the WiFi access LED lights up (the WiFi LED is the rightmost LED on the front of the unit) -- if it lights up, then you've got a stock Wireless card in your system.
Email me if you can't determine which card you have.
The problem could be your display. Use the VGA port on the side of your laptop to connect it to a computer monitor, this will let you know if your system is posting or not. (If you see the Boot Screen it is posting).

Some hinges have screws that come loose, you can take the hinge covers off and tighten them to take the play out, but most hinges are have a pressed in piece that is non adjustable, and have to be replaced in order to get rid of any play. You won't know which you have until you take the covers off.
