A bos "Yahoo Update Manager" constantly appears on my computer screen with the message "The Yahoo update server cannot be accessed at this time." Each time it appears there is a dinging noise. How can I get rid of it.

Go to start --- run
type msconfig -- press enter

on the screen that appear select startup

uncheck everything that relates to yahoo.

press apply -- ok

Computer asks for restart. Restart. A dialog box may appear. check the box and continue.

Update magellan rodmate 3045 server busy error


I had this Problem today. after several attempts and getting the message server is busy each time, I uninstalled content Manager from my PC and the redownloaded and installed it. It now works

I tried to update my yahoo messenger to messenger 10 but once i downloaded and installed and then tried to open it got the following error cannot load resource dll. I tried to redownload serveral times and...


Just go into the installation path of Yahoo Messenger
> C:\Program files\Yahoo!\Messenger
and there should be a couple of .reg files
> default.reg and intl.reg
I merged those files (with a double click) and now Messenger works even on my limited account.

This shouldn't happen all the time, but it will happen from time to time when the server at Yahoo is just busy fetching data for you. Closing your Yahoo email program and restarting will generally cure that problem.
If you are getting this message generally more than once per day, there is an issue with your email program communicating with the server at Yahoo and you should call or email Yahoo support if you can access your email. Since Yahoo doesn't store data locally on your Hard Drive, but on Yahoo servers, you must take up the issue with Yahoo support services.

I am getting error codes 6129,0 and 6073, 816 on my quickbooks 2008. What can I do to open the company?


This error can occur when:
  • Data is converted or restored over a network.
  • Several computers are acting as host for the QuickBooks data file.
  • QuickBooks is unable to communicate with the server.
  • There is data damage in your company file.

If the error occurred when you were restoring a company file from a backup or updating a company file to a newer version of QuickBooks over a network:
  1. Copy the backup file (.qbb file extension) or the company file you want to update (.qbw file extension) to a local hard drive.
  2. Restore the backup or update the company file.
  3. Copy the restored or updated company file back to its original location.

If the error occurred when you were trying to open and use a company file:
  1. Update QuickBooks to the most current release on all computers that open the company file.
  2. Close QuickBooks on all the computers with access to this company file.
  3. On the computer you select to host the company file, switch to single-user mode, and then back to multi-user mode:
    1. Open QuickBooks and open the company file.
    2. Choose File > Switch to Single-user Mode.
    3. Choose File > Utilities > Stop Hosting Multi-User Access.
    4. Choose File > Switch to Multi-user Mode.
    5. Choose File > Close Company to close the company file.
  4. On all other computers that will use the company file, stop hosting multi-user access :
    1. Press and hold Ctrl while you open the QuickBooks program and continue pressing Ctrl until QuickBooks opens completely. This opens QuickBooks without opening a company file.
    2. Choose File > Utilities >Stop Hosting Multi-User Access. If that option doesn't appear, the computer is not hosting and no further action is necessary.
    3. Repeat steps 4.a and 4.b for each computer other than the host computer.
  5. Configure the QuickBooks server for multi-user access:
    1. Click the Windows Start button and choose All Programs > QuickBooks > QuickBooks Database Server Manager.
    2. Click the Scan Folders tab.
    3. Click the Add Folder button, select the folder that contains your QuickBooks company file, and click OK. Repeat this step if necessary to add additional company file folders.
    4. Click the Scan button to begin scanning. After the scan is finished, the company files in the scanned folders are configured for multi-user access.
  6. Open the company file in QuickBooks. If you receive the same error message, refer to Settings required for firewalls to make sure your firewall is properly configured to allow QuickBooks access to your company file.
  7. Open the company file in QuickBooks. If you receive the same error message, open a different company file or a sample company file located in one of the folders you scanned with the Database Server Manager.
    • If no company file will open, reboot the host computer and try again.
    • If other company files open without error, the company file generating the error message may be damaged. For more information refer to Verifying and rebuilding QuickBooks company data.

I am having problems setting up outlook 2007 for my yahoo.es address.what are the incoming and outgoing mail settings. when I try to do the auto set up it doesnt seem to recognise my network password for...


Here’s how you can read your Yahoo! Mail Plus email using Outlook 2007:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings.

    Note: If you do not see Account Settings, place your cursor over the two arrows at the bottom of the list to display more choices.
  2. On the E-mail tab, click New. The Add New E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Select the Manually configure server settings or additional server types checkbox. Click Next. The Choose E-mail Service screen appears.
  4. Select Internet E-mail, and click Next. The Internet E-Mail Settings screen appears.
  5. Complete the fields as follows:
    • Your Name: Type your name as you’d like it to appear when you send an email message.

      E-Mail Address: Type your Yahoo! Mail Plus email address (for example, testing80@yahoo.com).

      Account Type: Select POP3 from the pull-down menu.

      Incoming mail server: Type plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com.

      Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Type smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
    • Select the Remember Password checkbox if you don't want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you check your mail.
    • Do not select the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) checkbox.
  6. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  7. Select the Outgoing Server tab:
    • Select the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox.
    • Make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  8. Click the Advanced tab:
    • For Incoming Server (POP3), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox. The number in the Incoming Server (POP3) field automatically changes from 110 to 995. If it doesn’t, type 995.
    • In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) field, type 465. Under Outgoing Server (SMTP), select the This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) checkbox.
    • Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select SSL from the pull-down menu.
    • If want to keep a copy of your email messages on the Yahoo! Mail server, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want to delete your messages from the Yahoo! Mail server after viewing them in Outlook, leave the box unchecked.
    • If you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Yahoo! Mail server and on your computer, select the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! server after Outlook has downloaded them onto your computer, leave the box unchecked.

      Note: After your messages are deleted from the server, we cannot retrieve them.
  9. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  10. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  11. Click Finish to close the Add New E-mail Account dialog box.
  12. Click Close to close the Account Settings dialog box.

Troubleshooting tips
If you still can’t send Yahoo! Mail from Outlook 2007, you might be accessing the Internet through an ISP that is blocking the SMTP port. If this is the case, try using port 587 when sending email via Yahoo!’s SMTP server. To make this change:
  1. From the Tools menu, select Account Settings. The Account Settings dialog box appears.
  2. Double-click your Yahoo! Mail Plus account. The Change E-mail Account dialog box appears.
  3. Click More Settings. The Internet E-mail Settings dialog box appears.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) box, type 587.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet E-mail Settings dialog box.
  7. Click Next to continue. The Congratulations screen appears.
  8. Click Finish to close the Change E-mail Account dialog box.

    • WARNING!! Do not power off the Home Entertainment Server or disconnect it from the AC power outlet. Doing so may damage the Home Entertainment Server to the point of requiring repair.
    • WARNING!! Do not press any buttons, except as instructed, until the update is complete. Doing so may damage the Home Entertainment Server to the point of requiring repair.
    • The software update process usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on system configuration and network connection.
    1. Power on the television and make sure it is tuned to the inputs to which the HES-V1000 Home Entertainment Server is connected.
    2. Connect the LAN terminal on the HES-V1000 to your Internet source using an Ethernet cable.
    3. Power on the HES-V1000 Home Entertainment Server.
    4. Press "HOME" to go to the Home Menu.
    5. At the "Home" menu, select "Settings".
    6. At the "Settings" menu, select "System Settings" and then press "ENTER".
    7. At the "System Settings" screen, select "Software Update" and then press "ENTER".
    8. At the "Software Update" screen, select "Network Update" and then press "ENTER".
      Note: The network connection display appears.
    9. Select "Yes" and press "ENTER".
      Note: The server starts to check the version information.
    10. At the version confirmation screen, select "Yes" and then press "ENTER".

      • If "VERSION UP FAIL" appears on the front panel display, repeat the update procedure above.
    13. The system will power off automatically.
    14. Power on the Home Entertainment Server again.

Manual update fails, no internet connection


I have had similar problems after trying to activate and update on my customers computers. I know it is Trend Micros servers that are down for maintenance. Wait a day or two and then try again and it will work. Your computer is protected during this time even though it is not activated/updated.
