When it's turned on, the light on my monitor blinks... (by 61 users)

Had same problem with my HP f1523 screen. Power light blinking and screen blank. I took the back off and had a look inside. Switched it on and screen came on. Closed it back up and working okay now. Supect it will probably go faulty again at some point.

I'm working on this problem right now. It could be bad capacitors in your monitor. I wouldn't advise trying to fix that yourself unless you are a trained electrician.

Probably fuse problem on the main board. Open the monitor and check fuse PF751 near the biggest heatsink of transistor D701.
Fuse looks like a resitor. Measure it with an ohm meter it should read open or short any other value indicates th itiem is to be replaced.

It sounds like it has power but not getting any signal from the PC. Try a different monitor cable from the PC.
Does the PC work with a different monitor? If not, it could be the graphics card in the PC.

the problem is graphics card or vga cable problem. but when the monitor is on light blinks start,problem in power section rectifier and lot over loaded, power section main filter folty

reset the bios with the following methods:

1. remove battery and keep for somtime and then put it back

2. there is a jumper with exactly 3 pins which u should switch and then switch back

does work sometimes..

It sounds like a backlight failure,I have one and tried repairing it ,it had a major short at the ccfl connector burned through the plastic housing around the LCD

i have the same problem, monitor switches on and sound comes on then dies out, all the time i get a black screen. i have tried a different cable, but still no luck. the graphics card is totally wrong because if i try my old screen it works fine.

any genuine help will be greatly appreciated....

You have to turn it on the right way, the way to do this is rub your ***** on every inch of the screen and kiss it with your pee hole then *** on the monitor logo. This will turn on the monitor in ways the power supply can't.

Possibly a blown out inverter.

This is the most common thing in these dell panel. It is your inverter board or power board, because dell stupidly make these board combined inside of you lcd, you would just have to get the whole board replaced. look on ebay for same model with someone have a broken screen , and replace your internal parts with that.

I suggest to open the monitor and check for a DRY SOLDER, mainly around the INVERTER TRANSFORMERS on the PC board .

The TFT board has to be changed it is blown. The monitor light blinks but no pic if I am correct to your problem. I see this problem at work as I'm a tech for casino games as we use LCD monitors for certain games. We just open the backs and there is a board the looks like a memory stick shape with 4 wires going into it thats the TFT board you replace with a new one and Bam your back in service. You just gotta find someone who sells the board you need. Cant be expensive as we pay $15.00 for our boards for 19" monitors. Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with a Philips150S4. But my 150S3 does not have any problems. I suggested that my 150S4 has a problem with the power management function. I solve this problem in this way: turn on PC, wait until the user log-in of winxp appears (you know I can't see because monitor is off), turn on monitor. So, the power saving management of the monitor can't switch into suspend mode during resolution switching while booting.
That's not the ultimate solution, but it works. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this problem in order to replace or short-cut some hardware components of the monitor?

Definately power no signal.

Try the screen on another computer, if it doesn't work on another computer it's definately defective.

If it works, could be one of a number of things, a> defective video card, b> you had a different display on the computer before and the video res is set incorrectly c> video driver settings in general incorrect.

You can sort point b and c by resetting the video ram, you will need to look on the net which keys to do hold down on boot to do this, is different between pcs and macs.

Hi this is the way how to examine what's wrong with your LCD monitors. Power on both CPU and monitor. After that, you have to check if you can see the image on the screen or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or any image, there will be a minor problem. Like me, I can see window image using flashlight and check lamps inside. Some of them were broken and it is easily replaced. If you cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter board. If you have soldering tool and want to fix it by yourself, check the caps first. It may cause this problem. Some caps might show leaking or burn spot on the board because of too high temp. If you don't have soldering tool, you better go get a technician to do so.

i fixed mine if u take it apart there is 2 fuses one of mine was blown i replaced it with a fuseable link

Right but worng... when it is blinking orange and you know
1 that you cable is good
2 that you video output is there (same cable and computer on different monitor)
THEN THE SINC BOARD IS BUST.
Throw alway the monitor
BTW all of these monitors mare made by SONY you will find a GDM number on them.

Open the monitor's back cover.
When it is connected to a PC and receive a VGA signal, and it is switched ON, disconnect and reconnect all internal connectors. Especially the connector with a black cable that leaves about an internal a circuit. It seems that it stands to produce a Reset and the monitor works again!
In my case it was OK.

probably dead i have seen this twice and there was nothing wrong with the machine. so i tossed it.

I have about 200 vp930b's some even newer vp930b-3 and everytime there is a power outage we lose about 8 monitors that indicate this same problem. Even when we shut down computers and turn off these monitors we have many of them that show this same blinking green light.
Viewsonic used to be a good responsive company as we had several hundred CRT's but as they have gotten bigger they just are not as responsive. They will not give us any indication of what they are fixing or why this is happening. We curently have 16 monitors out of 200 in or on there way for repair. We have good power levels in our building use good surge surpressors and some that have gone out are on battery backup systems. ???? Call viewsonic if it is a blinking green light the monitor will require service.

in order to replace the wire for this monitor you need to take apart the screen and solder it in place...

Take a light and put it very close to the monitor, the backlight of the monitor has probably gone out. In which case you could get it repaired, or buy a new monitor.

Graphics settings are out of the monitor's range. If you're using Windoze, boot into safe mode, F4 or F8 and change the graphics settings. If you're using linux, boot into command line only from grub or lilo and reconfigure xorg.
If that doesn't work, you're monitor's screwed. Go hire a techie.

I have just had the same experience. At the moment it looks like a power supply fault. I have tried it on another PC but still nothing!!.If you look locelsy at the screen from an angle, you can see it trying to power up.


12v 2.00amp required.

Had same problem with Mine , changed graphics card and still the same fault . Removed back of monitor (do not do if still under warrenty)and found printed circuit board blown.
