The warranty only covers a bulb replacement if it's DOA which is complete bs. My first bulb went out after 30 hrs then I used my best buy warranty which took about 2 months for them to replace the bulb which then lasted about 70 hrs. If you haven't already DO NOT BUY THIS PROJECTOR.

The bulb on my HD65 went out after about 200 hours. I called Optoma Germany and they said this is not uncommon. Unfortunaltely i've had it for 7 months, and they will only replace it within 6 months. Are other projectors/bulbs more stable?

My second bulb lasted about 100 hours and 5 months. I would not buy Optoma again.

Use the warranty! since you anly had it for 8 weeks, and the waaranty last for one year, go back with it and get it repaired or get a new bulb. A buld last at least 2500 hours, in eco mode it last for over 3000 hours.

Good luck to you

MY OPTOMA HD65 KEEP TURNING OFF AFTER 1 TO 2 MIN. OF USE THE FAN IS RUNNING WHAT ELSE COULD BE WRONG WITH IT IT IS ONLY 1 YEAR 4 MONTHS OLD ..IT ALSO HAD A NEW BULB

Try cleaning the filter. If the area where it is installed is enclosed this will also cause over heating.. Make sure you have adequate air flow in the place where it is located and clean the filter.

Optoma hd65 has a red light. Only had it for 5 months. How do you fix?

The red indicator light usually comes on when something needs attention. Most often it has to do with the lamp timer or the filter timer. The projector keeps track of how long it's been since you've changed the bulb or cleaned the filter(s). You can reset these timers in the menu. Be sure to clean the filter before you reset the timer

The original bulb blew up after 456 hours. i replaced it. after about 8 hours or so, i tried to start the projector and immediately a "fan locked" warning appeared that was accompanied by a box...

Not sure if this is the solution, but I just had the exact same problem. I came here hoping for a solution but there was none? Anyway I started over, rotated the fan and then reinstalled the lamp. This time it worked? So there you go.

Just replaced my optoma hd65 lamp with an original optoma lamp and the picture color is great but there is flashing/flickering of the colors on the screen periodically, sometimes more often. I reset the...

Try putting the bulb into normal (rather than eco) setting.
Check the bulb is seated correctly.
If this does not help you may have to contact your bulb supplier to see if they can swap bulb for you.

Optoma hd65 projector new bulb wont turn on...cant reset timer!

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.
