DVD acting up

When I am watching a DVD the movie tends to pause itself without me pushing the pause button. It does it for about 2 seconds then continues to play. You can hear the dvd spinning then pause when this happens. What should I do?

Re: DVD acting up

If it does it with all the dvd you play then you are starting to have problem with your microchip or the lens needs to be adjust or replaced.take it to a tech you problem is it will be very dificult but from what i am saying to you the tech can go ahead and replace the components the strip leading from the lens should be replace also they like to go bad.good luck.

Make sure your speakers and dvd player disk is clean. Skips are common from the lazer reading and will read much better with a quick check on the cd.

I believe I have the solution....but it depends on your dvd player's zuxilarily capabilities. Do you have a second set of OUTPUT plugs that are colored Red and White on the back of the TV? Do you have a separate Red and White INPUT plugs on the back of the dvd? The TV must use the speakers in the DVD system by pushing the sound OUT. You cannot accomplish this if the dvd is only pluged into the INPUT of the tv.
\Another option is o make sure your DVD player has a "auxilary" or separate input channel on the console or remote.
I have a DVD home theatre system as well, not the same brand, but that shouldn't make a difference . Its a matter of how the sound is received.

Hope that helped.

Dvd movies intermitently slows to near stop playing irratically

Have you examined the DVD's to see if they are abused and/or damaged by those who rented them? If there is no damage (unlikely for rental DVD's) what does the 'problem' look like?

Samsung dvd player ht-dm150 (watching movies)

It is most likely that the laser is not a problem because it can read the first part of the disk. If the laser is defective, it willn ot recognize the disk. The problem is probably the seek mechanism. It can only access the inner tracks but cannot read the tracks further from the center.

Dvd pauses

mY DAV-C770 has the exact same problem ...when watching a movie it will intermittently pause or freeze ...then continue. It will do this 20 or 30 times throughout a movie. I asked a tech at Sony for help and he told me the laser reader is out of alignment. The minimum amount to have the dvd player sent out and repaired is $200.00, and thats if it does not require any parts. with a new laser reader it will be about $400.00. Almost the same price as a new dream system. Not worth fixing. I used to think really highly of Sony - until now. Jackal
