Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I just purchased a Lexmark 22300 printer. When I attempt to set it up the instructions tell me it is not compatible with my Apple Macbook computer because of the Mac OS X 10.5 configuration. What do I do now?

I guessed you meant the Z2300 Lexmark.

Go here: http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0

and choose MAc 10.5 as your operating system and there is a driver listed. Try this one and post back it it doesn't work.

The driver is good up to 10.3.2 but you can try installing it anyway and see if it might go thru.

Trying to get lexmark 8300 series to work on my mac.....no one seems to know the answer to this one.....pls help

The Lexmark 8300 was not designed by Lexmark for Mac and therefore there are NO drivers to support this printer with Apple products.

Hello,
I am guessing that you are using Snow Leopard. If that is the case then here is a step by step guide on how to install the printer using the preinstalled driver from Snow Leopard.

Can't print from MacBook, through Time Capsule, to Lexmark x5470

turn on the printer sharing via the system preference panel on the computer that is on the system via usb.
Then on your wifi computer look for shared printers and you'll see your printer in the list under the host computer name... use that setting and it should fire up for you!
let me know how it goes...

Installing Dell printer on MacBook Pro

A driver is a piece of software that is required to make a piece of hardware work with a computers operating system. Al of the drivers written for the  Dell 921 are windows drivers(see extensive list of drivers below) I found no drivers for an Apple operating system. If Del didn;t have their programmers write a driver I doubt any one else did.You said you could not find on within you mac OS.  Real sorry. It will never work w/o  a driver.

X4270 all in one printer driver needed for a new Mac notebook

Hi,
You CAN you your X4270 with your mac, its just a bit of work.
You may need to download the gutenprint/gimp drivers and install them. Which you can find at this link: http://downloads.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-print/gutenprint-5.2.4-rc1.dmg?use_mirror=superb-west

Once these are installed, do the following:
Before attempting this, ensure that your X4270 is plugged into your Mac and powered on.
1: Open "System Preferences" under the Apple menu in the upper left corner.
2: Click on "Print & Fax"
3: Click the "+" to add a printer
4: "Lexmark 4200 Series" should show up under the default tad of add printer, select it by single clicking.
5: If you wish you can change the name and give a location below
6: Where it says "Print using:", select: "Select a driver to use" This will bring up a list of printers
7: Search or scroll until you find "Lexmark Z43-CUPS+GutenPrint", select this by single clicking.
8: Press the "Add" button at the bottom and you should be done, if may ask you to step through a few more things, but it will be trivial.

Please note that this is not a perfect solution. I seem to have to print one page at a time, which is a pain, but at least I didn't have to buy a new printer. This could be a problem with my printer only, or it might just be a setting that I haven't found yet, so look around see if you can find it.

Also, you will not be able to use the scanner on your mac as far as I can tell, and I don't remember if the copy/fax works.

Good luck!
