-   i have the same problem, i have one of these and was using it when it decided it wouldnt turn off, so took the batteries out to check it over and have never been able to switch it on agian, changed the batteries and everything so i beleive the on switch is faulty as it doesnt click like the other buttons do when pressed. and as vivitar no longer exist how and where do i go to get help with this ????-   melanie777

does your camera have a slide switch to choose between filming and playing video? because i have a dvr410 a later model which is very similar and if you hold the power button while moving that sliding switch it should switch on, i would surgest you plug the camera in to its charger or put in a fresh battery while you do this or you will get very frustrated ;~)
