Pitch my technics SL - DZ1200 play and skip then when i push pitch lock  it plays some what better. How could i fix this problem. at first it would not play at all

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, buy a CD cleaning kit and follow instructions, if this fails! far cheaper to replace the player.

the firmware depends on display. if the display does not supports MP3, firmware upgrading will not help. most of the time upgrading firmware will not help playing MP3.

I believe it can only read certain bitrates. I noticed that if I run the track error files through audacity and re-save as an mp3 with 192 kbps encoding it plays fine. Give it a try - re-encoding.

Have you tried cleaning it? Use a DVD/CD cleaning CD. If it still skips, take it to a service center for a professional cleaning and/or diagnosis.

Return them immediately. This is a costly repair. More than likely the disk motor is bad, especially if it's not tracking correctly.

Nope. There are no input connections on the DZ1200. However, you can use programs like Serato, CUE, TRAKTOR, or PCDJ, and you can keep your music on your computer/hard drive, and control with the DZ1200 via specially coded CDs.

I had the same problem. Replacing the sensor is not gonna help. it is a focus problem. I had to fold a small piece of paper and put it under the sensor to raise it up alittle then you screw it in. The size of the paper you will have to figure out for yourself, but it will help u fix your problem

i had same problem, just took mine back and exchanged for new one. however i'm having a similar problem again. i tried polish to make it more slippy, and tried cleaning under grey platter, but now i've made it worse, and i get a clicking sound when my cd's are playing. any technics dealer should be able to get it serviced for you.
