Question about Toro Blowers Rake and Vac - Electric Blower/Vac - 51573

Open Question

Snowblower drops out of gear

I have a 3 year old Toro Snow King. It is sometimes dropping out of gear.
This Am when I was backing it up in #2 position reverse (the faster one, after a few feet it stopped moving). I placed it in the 1st position and it worked. I stopped and placed it in the 2nd position and it worked OK then.
This also happen in the forward gear #4. It happens infrequently. I want to know if something is starting to give out. It looks like another big winter here in Wisconsin. Last year was the 2ndhighest snowfall on record. We are on the same track this year.

SOURCE: My Toro mower is 7 yrs old. 3 speeds, blade

I've noticed that when the blade get dull it work harder a cutting tall grass. I just put a new blade on mine and now it runs and sounds like a brand new mower. also if the inside of the deck is coated with old grass that makes a differance too

No if your belt is shredding there is something rubbing on the belt. Check the idler/tightner pulley see if it spins freely. Check make sure nothing but the pulleys are touching the belt when it is engaged.

SOURCE: I have a Toro 20332 that stopped running after 20

Just take off your carb and give it a good cleaning. Be careful and watch how everything comes apart so you can put it back together with little or no trouble.

SOURCE: My toro 1028XL stopped moving

I viewed a parts diagram at www.arcolawn.com and your machine is equipped with a shifter under the battery in the back. If the shifter is loose to shift the ball socket of the ball joint that attaches the shifter to the transmission is broken. If you can hear the gears shift but the unit will not move it is a problem inside the transmisson. I recommend checking out the parts drawing at www.arcolawn.com you can get what you need super fast.
Thank you

Joe

Have a toro 2450 5 hp snowblower used to throw snow at least 8ft now lucky to go 1ft changed belt last year thought that was problem but didn't fix the problem any suggestions? Thank you

Just a thought. Is the belt tight or does it slip when you put pressure on it. Check and see if the impeller outfit is plugged. Mine did that and it was plugged with an old shirt I picked up in the snow. Can you turn the impeller by hand when the engine is shut down. If so could be a shear pin broke off in the impeller.

Snowblower drive will stop unexpectly when snowblowing

Mine was doing the same thing and I found that if I put it in reverse for a little while it would be ok again for a short time. I found also that it did this more often when the snow was heavy and wet which makes me think that the rubber drive wheel is getting wet and slipping. If you've brought it in to a shop and they've said that nothing could be found wrong, then it must be something that goes away by the time you get it there - water (I'm guessing).
