Console not reading that a game is inserted in ds side. GameBoy Advance side is just fine. The inside of the ds looks perfect!
Are there any tricks to fixing this?

I just posted a problem and as I was waiting on a respones I was reading other promblems sounding like my own. The one where someone mentioned a prong problem. I took a flashlight and looked inside and one prong was low. I took a toothpick and tried to flip it up. I couldn't get it very well. I tried a game anyway to see if something worked. It is now working! So find the prong out of line and flip it up and keep trying. Thanks for this website for giving me ideas and saving me money. I thought I was going to have to buy a new one! Thanks

I am don't know how to install a chip. i don't have the instruction booklet. Help

If you need to insert a game made for the DS you'll find the slot by holding the unit so that both screens face your, then looking at the opposite side, on the thin edge, or the part that has the buttons.
If you need to insert a game made for the Gameboy Advance you'll find the slot facing you if you hold it with both screens facing you. A removable cover is in place to protect the system when this slot is not in use.
DS, and DS Lite devices have both slots. The newer DSi systems and the 3DS do not have an options to work with the Gamebody Advance cartridges.wswift_4.jpg

When games are inserted into console they will not play

If you are inserting a DS card, be sure there are no foreign articles inside the slot. Blow into the DS card slot to clear any debris. Also be sure you are inserting the card all the way in until it clicks. I've also found that if you're powering on a game, and you bump, grasp or touch the ds card as the DS is powering on, that can cause it to not read games.

Check the actual DS card itself and carefully look at the exposed contacts on the circuit board. Be sure none of them are scratched, damaged or otherwise. A scratch can damage a contact, thus preventing proper data read.

If anything was spilled onto the DS card, be sure it is thoroughly cleaned with a damp cloth (no cleeaning chemicals!) If you immerse the DS card, or pour liquids on it, that may damage it as well.

Same points hold true for inserting a Gameboy Advance game (if you have a DS or a DS Lite. The DSi and DSiXL do not have Gameboy Advance slots.

If you turn on the DS and nothing happens, try a different DS Card. If it only happens with that one particular game (or games) your DS cards are damaged or need cleaning. If all your games are not playing, there is a problem with your DS. Try your games in a friend's DS just to make sure. You'll probably have to send the unit to Nintendo for repair, or take it to an authorized repair center.

Corupted data on Nintendo DS Lite

is it definitely "any" game? Reason is that a lot of games are now suffering from flat batteries, the symptom of which is what you're saying, corrupt save data.

The only solution is to change the battery if thats the case.
