Question about Troy Bilt Tb70ss Gas Trimmer
Trimmer starts easily and runs fine, but when I press the momentary off switch it won't stop running. I have to pull the spark plug wire to shut it off. Have replaced the momentary switch but no fix.
Take the switch so it is accessable
take the two wires and touch them together or hook them together bypassing the switch
does it shut off or it should not have spark?
if so you have a bad grounding problem if it does not shut off,if it does your switch is still bad
2 wires one tied to ign. module and other to a metal ground all the switch does is dead short. the igniton to shut down the spark and in turn kills the engine.
Be sure your grounding is tight and clean and all wires are intact and making good contact to their designated areas (no broken wires)
hope this helps some for you

Check all wire connections, where they connect to the switch- to the motor-and to each other sounds like a bad ground
