Whirlpool Refrigerator Shelf falling off support pins regularly

The shelf, which goes in the refrigerator door supported (supposedly) by white plastic pins, doesn't seem to be wide enough because it falls off the pin support regularly causing things to come crashing down. I'm at a loss on how to fix it, where to find a wider shelf or longer pins to support the shelf. Rest of refrigerator works fine!

Hello,
I got a new refrigerator that has the same problem. I solved it by cutting a triangular pencil grip for children's pencils down so they extend out just past the pegs on both sides (making them longer). The grips fit on snug, just like on a pencil, you don't have to screw the shelves in permanently which allows them to be taken off and moved. Works like a charm and holds the shelves in very snug.

Flap on Ice chute came off I need to put it back on. Whirlpool Refrig. With water and Ice with a flap over the ice to keep hot air from getting in.

I'm in the middle of the same problem on my own refrigerator right now. The flapper swings on a steel pin which passes through a stationary plastic tab. That plastic tab can break off, allowing the door to fall out of position. Look up into the mechanism to see if this is your problem. Whirlpool makes a modification kit, part #8201756. It's not on the original parts list, so do a web search for Whirlpool 8201756. I hope this helps.

Refrig door trays do not stay in place. Door studs too far apart.

Hi there. Take one of the trays to a hardware store or even a home depot and but a 12 inch piece of clear plastic tubing which fits snuggly over the studs. Cut the pieces just long enough so that the trays snuggly fit into the refrigerator door. This will solve your problem for a few cents compared to a very pricey repair kit from the manufacturer of the refrigerator. good luck.
