Question about Dell Dimension 4600 PC Desktop
Hi, Whenever I turn on my monitor it displays the computers output briefly (~half a second) before going blank. I have tried the monitor on two other computers with the same result so it is definetaly not a computer problem. The power light on the front of the monitor stays green when the screen goes blank. Whenever I turn the power off and back on again the exact same thing happens. Help please!! Start, screen shows "Windows XP logo" clearly, then goes to BLACK screen. Still shows cursor clearly, and cursor moves. Power light shows monitor is on. Buttons on monitor ( brightness, left, right, etc) will show a nice clear box to indicate that monitor works, just can't figure out how to get ris of the "black curtain" Have checked all cable are connected.
Try booting up your CPU again, while on its process of booting press F8, then select (something MODE), okay, then when you are at windows environment go to control panel, select display, set your display settings its default or 900 by 600 pixels settings, then if its run okay then change to your desired settings.

If tried the monitor on two other computers with the same result -- definitly your monitor is faulty. Take it to the repair shop. To make double sure, run your computer with another monitor. If everything is fine now; you can blame the monitor.
