Operatings systems disc not working properly

Yes Mmy pc has been acting slow and sluggish so I got my operatngs systems disc put it in restarted the pc pressed the f2 button went to advance bios choose cdrom for first boot up device. the pc reboots shows the data like bus #. then below it says press 'R' to display recovery options then after 5 seconds it shows press F11 to begin start recovery. but when I do so it loads up the recovery options then has 2 choices Full recovery (Destrctive) Full recovery (with backup) no matter which I choose it only uses then partition and not the operatings systems disc that came with the pc. and now my pc just goes to Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt : \system32\hal.dll Please re-install a copy of the file above. I've tried the restart pc go to advance bios make the cdrom the first bootup device but it still will not use the cd instead of the partition also I could not find it on the list but my pc is an AMD W3644 series.

The cd that you got with your system may be a recovery cd; not an operating system disc.

Sound driver not woking proprely

first make sure you have the proper drivers from the manufacturer, don't download some scam driver from some unknown web site, always go the OEM web site. the best way to insure proper driver installation is to remove the device from the system using device manager. if it asks to remove the device drivers as well say yes. reboot the system, It should ask for the location of the new drivers, point it to those you downloaded. if your drivers came with a setup file simply cancel the automatic install (if you can) and run the setup.

I think a virus running real slow

If it's in the internet browser only and not the whole computer, then try using a different website browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari.

If the whole computer is slowing down, then run a full anti-virus scan. If no viruses are found, then do a disc clean up. GO to start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disc Clean up

Delete all unneccessary files. Just put a check mark on all. After that, restart your computer. Install or update the device drivers - You can use RadarSync to update them all so that you won't miss any outdated driver in the computer.

I hope this helps!

How to restore system

im assuming you have the recovery disk

Restart the computer and press the pause/break key on the keyboard.

This key will slow down the boot process and allow you to see the motherboard BIOS access key that you'll need to press in order to access the motherboard BIOS.

Press the respective motherboard access key and check the motherboard BIOS for a boot sequence.

Change the settings in the boot sequence so the primary boot device or the first boot drive is the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.

Insert the system recovery disc into the disc drive.

Restart the computer and allow it to boot up before doing anything.

A black screen should show up with the words Press any key to boot from disc CD/DVD.
Press a key to have the system boot from the recovery disc.

Allow the system to load.

Follow the on-screen instructions on how to install the rest of the operating system.

There are many different settings for you to choose.
If the operating system is just a little out of whack, you can choose to repair it.

The system recovery disc will contain important drivers and software for all the components connected to the computer system.

If you do not have a system restore disc you can search the Internet for drivers and software that are packaged for your specific eMachines model.

Restore the BIOS to their default settings so the hard drive is primary boot sequence.

This is an optional step.

You can leave the CD-ROM drive as the primary boot drive, but it will slow down the startup process by a few seconds.

hope this helps

Hi , Im running win7 ultimate, on an acer aspire x3200,\r\n every time i put a disc in , or try to burn files to a disc , it crashes explorer.exe, i have checked device manager and it tells me its working...

Yes, most likly. You can restore your pc to an eralier time to try and get around the bad registry information. Click START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS> system restore. Also you can shout down and plugout your system, disconnect the malfunctioning drives and restart your system. The go to deivice manager and scan for hardware changes, shut down, reconnect drives and restart.

If that does not work you should also try to install burning software like nero etc and see if you have the same problem. Dont forget that your drives have internal software called firmware, you should make sure that a new release is available for you.

Hope this helps

How to format the desktop if i don't have a recovery CD?

You need to have an operatng system CD in order to put the operating system back on. If you do not have a recovery CD, then you need an OEM version of the operating system that is indicated on the operating system product key sticker usually found on the back or bottom of your computer. Or, you need a regular retail version of the operating system which will include its own product key found on a yellow sticker.
