Help removing a stuck crankshaft on a Honda GC160

The engine was seized and so we removed the pump and is still wouldn't budge. Once inside we found that the piston is fine and that the crankshaft is seized in place and we can't figure out how to get it out. The flywheel is removed, but the oil seal is still in place along with the crankshaft. Instructions on how to remove with out damaging anything would be most helpful and appreciated!

SOURCE: Can't fine where to put pump oil in

Dear glenoaks06,
I handled various Karcher washers, but the 2500 I never came across it. Just the same I will give you a few hints and maybe the solution for the problem. When the oil is milkey this means it has water in it. This means that there are faulty seals for sure. Now in many Power Washers the compartment where the oil is located is filled with oil prior to assembling the head unit that contains the pistons. So you have to take apart the the complete head change all seals( HP seals, LP seals and OIL seals). There are pumps that take multi-grade oil(15/50) and others 90 grade oil. If your pump is fan cooled, it probably takes 15/50 oil. Now one of the main biggest problem of water in oil is Faulty and Scratched PISTONS.
So when you have the pump apart....check condition of pistons. It is useless to change seals if pistons are damaged.
Now one thing regarding your problem, is that you have to put together the head with the pump upside down, so that you can fill the compartment (where the pistons are pushed by the swash plate), with OIL, before you put back the complete head with good pistons, springs, seals, valves...etc..etc. These few hints are relevant to quite a number of Karcher washers.
Regards,
Fulltech.

Yes. Thicker oil can help reduce piston slap on an engine. But piston work requires engine removal and disassembly. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Honda integra seized

How do you know that is seized in the bore? usually when the engine works without oil first of all the seized part which is in a worst position is the crankshaft big end and main bearings are all stuck on the crank shaft and do not allow it to turn at all. If you want to free rotating the engine you just have to remove the oil pan and check if the problem is there and it is better for an expert advise as well.

I have a honda GC160 prssure washer. I tfires up good, but when you squeze the trigger no waters comes out of the gun?

Hiand welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

GC160 is the engine number.... It does not tell me that pressure pump is on the unit.
There should be a large knob on the side of the pump head. That is the bypass / unloader valve. Removed that and clean the pump housing where the flat plunger mates to the bousing. Then disassemble the unloader vavle. Remove the lower part of it from the knob and clean off the corrosion and dirt from the plunger and spring. Clean everything brass.... Reassemble using what you could consider abnormal amounts of WHITE GREASE. Place a GOB of white grease into the pump housing be re-installing the unloader / bypass valve. Just remember when you hook up water for a funtional test, that your going to spray some off that extra white grease through the pump and wand nozzle.
This should get you going again. If not I need a model number for either the pump body or the whole pressure washer vs the Honda engine number of GC160.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

first remove the plugs and try to turn the engine by hand(slowly), if the engine locks stop, remove valve covers and check each valve keeper, i think you may have dropped one , if not a nut or washer may have found its way into the piston chamber

Honda water pump, wb20x/wb30x Left water in it over the summer, now the start pull cord wont budge, suspect corrosion, can I fix this myself, I really need this pump next spring, only been used this 1...

Remove the spark plug, this will rule out hydrostatic load on the engine. Try to pull it again. If it is still stuck, You will need to try to turn the pump.

Make sure there is engine oil too.

How do you remove crankshaft? The thing (28mm

You will need an impact driver to get the nut off. You will also need a flywheel puller, torque wrench, case splitter and service manual. The engine gets torn apart totally. Sorry for the problem.
