Question about Neoware EON E100 64/128MB NEOLINUX (BL02ECAA0) Network Terminal
I have a Neoware unit that has a password set up but nobody at my office knows what the password is...I can't change the password unless I know what the current password is. I'm also unable to perform a 'Factory Reset' as it keeps prompting me for the password. Is there anyway to remove the password if it is unknown??? Help!!
NeoLinux Password Reset
1) Restart the NeoLinux appliance.
2) On power on hold down the Shift key.
3) From the LILO Boot Menu type vga single and press Enter.
4) When you see "Starting up...open: No such device" press Alt/F2.
5) From bash# type passwd and press Enter.
6) Enter the new appliance password and press Enter.
7) Retype the new password and press Enter.
8) Type /sbin/reboot and press Enter.

Is the password in the BIOS? If so, try DOGBITES, if this fails, it might be worth opening up the unit, and reseting the bios using the bios jumper. (Takes 10 seconds)
This should put the bios back to defaults it will then either have no password, or DOGBITES (capitals required) and this should let you in.
If the password is on the OS, not the BIOS, then you will just need to set the BIOS to PXE boot, and use whatever the neoware imaging tools are to drop a default OS image onto the device.
Have Neoware not offered you any support for this?
Personally I find Wyse terminals superior to Neoware, and the technical support is free, you just have to register online, and log your problem :)
