Picture not locking in

My APEX 3230 recently developed a problem where the picture is just not "locking in".The technician says it needs this IC/processor TDA9379PS/N2/4I1231.However I am unable to locate it in Jamaica where I live. Can it be confirmed that that processor may be the problem and if so where can I get it.

Re: Picture not locking in

Are you on cable or the dish? Did you buy the set in Jamaica? The reason that I am asking these questions is that all sets do not work the same every where in the world.

Apex gt 2715 turns on but no picture or sound

Its main digital board should be suspected. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock! Instead, contact any experienced service technician, or the nearest service center.

i think there is an option called music mode ....
so may be it is running in music mode check it....
if not then may be the tube is gone or may be some capacitor is burnt out or may be some wire connecting to display circuit board is in mis contact .. ....
just take your tv to technician ....
the technician will recharge the tube or he will give other solution for it ....
if you are good at opening then just open it and have a check whether any capacitor is burnt out...
if you are not good at opening or if you are afraid or if you dont have any idea then just take the tv to technician ...
any way it doesnt cost too much ...

Need to know how to remove the red key on tv and code

When a red key appears in the lower left corner of your Apex television screen, the set's V-chip is engaged, preventing you from watching restricted content. You can override parental controls and reset your television's pass code with your remote.
Parental Lock
  1. The Apex prompts you to enter a 4-digit code when you set up parental controls. You can block programs according to their MPAA ratings or their content designations, such as V for violence or S for ****** situations.
Disabling the Lock
  1. You can override parental controls on most Apex models by simultaneously pressing the F and mute buttons on the remote control. If you own Apex models GT2011J or GT2011S, hold the remote's display button for ten seconds. The red key will vanish and the V-chip will unblock your program.
Override Codes Apex's default parental lock control code is 6688, so if you haven't set a new code, entering 6688 will remove the red key and unblock your program. If you've set a new password and forgotten it, entering 3308 will reset the code and unblock your program.

My tv is locked

It sounds like the manufacturers are asking you to get it looked at by an engineer! Try their website, maybe they will have a firmware download or a key combination that can be pressed to force the system to re-boot when powering up, something like the sky+box has. Try and press the channel up & down buttons while pressing the on button, or maybe it'll be another combination, it's worth experimenting before you get an engineer out. Hope this helps

I have an old Zenith SY2568S that hasn't had a crisp picture in a while and has just recently developed a translucent white picture. Everything else seems to be fine. Can I fix this on my own or should I...

This is caused by a device on the television called the "flyback". It is the most dangerous part on the TV and should be set by a trained technician. What is occurring is the flyback is going in and out of it's correct setting by the device that sets the voltage output of it. It is called the Focus Foyer or similar flyback control. Take it to a technician. Have him give you an estimate - I usually set the cost of repair to 50% of the original cost of the unit - beyond that it would be cost INeffective. Hope this helps

well based on ur info, ur tv has a prolem in power supply section, particularly regulation circuit. the regulator of the circuit seems to be mulfunctioning thats why insufficient voltage is coming out from B+ which in turn goes to high voltage circuits thats why the produced picture is insufficient. if this is very technical to u, have it check with a qualified technician.

It is not clear what you mean by "the picture does not fit the screen". Usually the picture size is determined by the TV microprocessor based on information which it receives. If it is not displaying the picture properly this circuit is probably bad. The bad news is Apex does not support their products and it will probably be tough or impossible to fix this.
