Question about NetGear RangeMax WPN824 Wireless Router (WPN824NAR)
My question is why does this keep happening? Before purchasing this router I had an older Linksys router that would not let us browse the internet using wireless at all. It was replaced with the new Netgear router which installed and set up everything with ease. It worked for about an hour, then dropped out. About 20 min. later, it worked fine again. Then 30 min. or so later, dropped out again and the circle begins. Our ISP is going to charge us $65 for the service call if its not an issue on their end...so Im just trying to cover anything I can beforehand. There are 2 computers hooked up to the wireless. Both experience this problem and are running Windows XP with Firefox for the browser. When directly connected to the modem service is fine, though I dont know if it would drop out after extended periods of time. The network connections link shows service is connected and is sending data out...but freezes when trying to recieve. This is all so frustrating.

One simple solution, can you try using the router on another ISP connection (at your friends' place possibly?) This will rule out the possiblility of your ISP fault saving you $65 straightaway...
