Question about Philips GoGear HDD075/17 MP3 Player

My philips go gear mp3 wont turn on to charge

My mp3 ran out of charge. So i went to plug it inot my computer but because it is out of chrage it wont turn on to charge itself. It is now totally useless. How can i make it charge...?

    mine wont turn on to charge. it not a smart feature on a mp3 to have to turn it on before charging. that sucks.

Take something really skinny like a saftey pin and press the little reset button thts next to the lock switch

try the rest button or upgrading the firmwire .If the battery is old it may need to be replaced.If it still wont work you may want to replace it if it is still under warranty

My battery went dead. plugged it in and wont do anything


mine is doing the same. i have a SanDisk 4GB mp3 video player & mines went dead too and it will show it charging for a few seconds then it will just stop & it will just show the connected sign. try holding the power button for 15 to 20 seconds. maybe that'll work

Wont charge


Have you tried to reset? The reset button is right by the lock switch. It's small so use a pin or something small like that.

My battery died ,it won't turn on and the computer can't see it


It could be a hardware issue requiring replacement, but here are the things you can try to narrow it down:
1. Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
2. Reset the player
3. Run an Updated using the latest version of the Philips Device Manager from Philips website
4. Run a Repair in Philips Device Manager

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.


If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

Make sure your connecting cable is working ok. The sansa should say connecting when plugged in. If it doesn't say that try wiggling the cord. Make sure it's plugged into the sansa all the way.

My mp3 player will not come on at all it is fully charged. but even when i have it chraging it will not turn on. i have had it for only alomost a week and a half


Make sure the hold/lock switch has not been activated first.

Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently. Actually, don't go to Philips website - run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect it to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up.

Go gear wont hold charge


There is a program that came with the installation Cd called Philips Device Manager. You can download it from www.usasupport.philips.com if you lost the CD. Use the Philips Device Manager to repair the player. If the device manager will not repair the player, then try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

mine too, i charged it all night and in the morning it wont turn on, stops on philips logo, anybody help us plz!
