When the power is turned on at the breaker panel - the cooktop goes through a self test and ends in the lock out mode -according to the instructional booklet..........when we try to unlock the unit by holding down on the illuminated Dacor symbol for 3 to 5 seconds - nothing happens - there is no response what so ever....and the unit will continue with the 3 short beeps on about a 1 or 2 minute interval.

SOURCE: Dacor SGM304... no ignition

There is no fuses, as long as you have a power supply into unit then the only item that can cause this fault is a faulty spark generator.the hob will need to be dismatled to repair, remove the knobs, remove the burners and then remove the obvious screws, top will lift off Regards Advisor

The lock light is blinking, the door is locked, everything is turned off, and the temperature is definetely below 490. We cannot get the door to open. I have a E36DF76EPS model

Thanks for using FixYa. The locking of the oven is a safety measure while self clean function is activated. Once the oven has completed the cycle & has cooled down, then it will reset the door lock.

If a self clean oven door lock fails to open after the self clean cycle and sufficient cooling time has elapsed (approximately 1 hour), there are several things you can try.
  1. Unplug the unit or shut off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes. Plug the unit back in or turn on the circuit breaker. Set the clock and gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
  2. Set the self-clean cycle again and only allow it to work for 15 minutes. Cancel the self-clean cycle and allow the oven to cool. Gently try moving the door lock lever (is so equipped) or opening the door.
If these procedures fail to correct the condition or you were not using the self clean cycle, then, the lock must usually be accessed and moved manually to open the door—

In order to open the door you have to open the control panel and remove the door lock.

Remove the three screws from the bottom of the control panel. You'll heed a 1/4" open wrench. Pull the bottom of the control panel toward yourself and push it up to release from the upper tabs.
The door lock is secured by the three screws.

Electric shock from cooktop, didn't trip breaker,

Where did you smell the smell was it from the fan switch. turn the power off and take the screw out of where the fan switch is and check the wires to the switch and the switch itself. sometimes the jennair cooktops have issues with that switch. let me know how it goes

The lock on my thermadore hybrid induction cooktop

try turning off the breaker for at least 5 min and re apply power. If this doesn't work, then there's an internal problem.

Power button problem

Without being there to troubleshoot further, the first thing I'd recommend is checking the breaker. It'll most likely be in the breaker panel outside the house... in the BIG panel. This is a 240 Volt unit, so what you'll be looking for is a "dual" breaker. They'll be connected together.

I'll tell you what... here's the easy way to do it. Simply turn off, then turn on all the breakers in the big breaker box outside. Make sure you have all the computers turned off first, though. You might have to reset a few clocks, but that's OK. I'd bet this gets you cooking again. If not, post back.

Jenn-Air Electric stovetop / oven range SCE4340B - Fuse blown ? ? ?

Andy, sounds like you lost a leg of power. Check the breaker box first. Maybe the contractors tapped an existing breaker instead of adding one for the burner/broiler. You would have to check the terminal block on the range. Should read 120V from each end to center and 220V across the two outer terminals. If you don't have this, something got messed up with the contractors. back
