do this test this will tell you if your power supply is good or bad we will do the process of elimination ok.
How do I test if the power supply is bad?
Warning This test is for those with extensive electronics training. Do not try this if you do not have extensive electronics training. Make sure there is enough load connected to the power supply before testing ( at least motherboard and one hard drive)!

ATX power connector layout isshown above. 5VSB constantly provides 5V power to the connector through pin 9. If you have a voltmeter, while the power supply fan does not turn on, you could identify which pin is pin 9. Normally there is a clip on the connector between pin 15 and 16. If one can identify pin 14 (the only green wire goes to pin 14), this is the power-on pin. Onee can use a piece of wire to short pin 14 and 15 (or any other black wired ground pin). If you power supply has power connected to it and power switch on the power supply is on, the fan should be turning by now. Otherwise, your power supply may have problem.

Test atx-300-12e power supply

Remove the switch mode power supply from the computer.
You need the pin out details of the 20 pin connector from this WEB site.
http://pinouts.ru/Power/atxpower_pinout.shtml.
You will also need a multimeter to test the 4 pin connectors for the 5 and 12 volts.
Connect a hard drive to one of the 4 pin power connectors, this will provide a load on the power supply when it is powered up.
Connect the mains power to the switch mode power supply and if the switch mode has a switch on the back then switch it to the ON position.
Straighten a paper clip to form a U shape and insert one end of the paper clip into pin14 and the other end into pin 15 or 16 or 17 (ground). This is the same connection/switch on the power button on the front panel of your computer.
You can now measure the voltage on the 4 pin connectors for 5 volts (red and black wire) and 12 volts (yellow and black wire).
If you don't get these voltages then the switch mode power supply is faulty and needs to be replaced.

My computer monitor say no input signal, what is the best sulotion

Make sure your monitor cable is connected/seated correctly and firmly on both; monitor and computer.
If that fails, you may have a bad graphics card. Now, if you have an extra monitor, you could always plug that one in to see if your graphics card is working. If that works, then your other monitor is bad.

This problem can also be caused by the RAM or CPU not seated properly in their sockets. Check to see if they are seated correctly.

I have got a system with an Aopen motherboard which having only a 20 pin connector for smps connectivity. the Atx smps i have is is 24 pinned. i can connect the main line by splitting up the 24pin...

The actual Processor fan connects to the CPU Fan header on the mainboard. It's 4 small pins. It plugs in right near the CPU socket on the mainboard. Check the user manual for exact placement, you may download it from the AOpen website if you don't have one already.

Plug in the 20Pin connector if that is the most Pins that the mainboard will allow. Cable tie the other 4Pins back onto the 20Pin connector.

Then if there is additional 4Pin connector required by the mainboard for CPU power and you don't have that connector on you power supply, you will need to purchase a Molex to 4Pin CPU power connector. When you go to the computer store check with them that all is correctly connected.

Take care!

You should definately use the VGA connection if your TV supports it. You'll get much better resolution than you would from the S-Video.

I have an old wingman interceptor joy stick with a 15 pin connector for the computer. My new computer will not accept it. Can it be adapted to use the usb ports jerry

You can buy a 15 pin to USB adapter but for the cost of one you might be better off buying a new joystick.

I forget my thosiba laptop bios password wht can I do?

To reset the password of a Toshiba, you can use KeyDisk.
If this doesn't work, you can try to build the Toshiba Parallell loopback.
To make a device that you connect to your parallell port, a lot of Toshiba computers remove the password when you boot it up. The device, named "loopback" ,could be made out of any parallell wire with 25pins connectors (db25). Connect these pins: 1-5-10, 2-11, 3-17, 4-12, 6-16, 7-13, 8-14, 9-15, 18-25
