I have the same problem with my Cambridge Soundworks CSW250. Also one of the speakers doesn't work all the time. I'm sure it's a loose connection on the circuit board. When I tap the subwoofer near the connections, the popping noise changes (gets worse, better, other speaker works,etc.).I tried taking the subwoofer apart, but the area near the connections is sealed with glue, so I cannot access it. I hate it because when it works,it sounds so good. Anyone know how to get just the circuit board and back panel?

Bose Companion 3 Speakers make a popping noise.

No solution i'm afraid. But i have the exact same problem. Terrible cracking interference. Unplug everything else in the house and they still crackle. Very annoying. Decided to buy a new woofer on ebay as that seemed to be the problem with possible faulty switch, but the new woofer has a different connection for the volume control. Incredibly frustrating. If you have any luck let me know. Bose want eighty quid to repair...

My woofer makes popping noise

Depending on your configuration, it could be a loose/**** cable, or possibly digital clipping. If you're playing music (especially MP3s that weren't professionally transcoded) from your computer or player, try first turning down the volume a little from the computer SOFTWARE (in iTunes or WinAmp or whatever), or your iPod, Zune or whatever. If that solves, it, your MP3s were transcoded too hot, which is bummer because using the volume in software is never as nice as in analog.
If that doesn't solve, it, try checking/replacing your speaker wires.
These are the easy fixes. If they don't work you may have a more serious problem, like dust in the speaker or amp electronics, trouble with your crossover, or God knows.
Good luck. Poppy woofers ****.

Static noise in Yamaha HS50 monitor

Sounds like the voice coil is damaged on the woofer. If you GENTLY press in on the woofer cone, and release, you should not hear any scratching noise. If you hear noise, the woofer needs replacement.

Popping sound from sub woofer

disconnect the woofer and connect a different speaker see if other speaker makes the same pop if it don't then the woofer cone is defected if you have high watts and using stereo on high volume you can damage speakers.

Sub woofer making a screaching loud noise when powered on

The pop from other electrical items makes me think it's a ground problem but I am do not have a clue as to what type of setup you are running over there. Did you try a surge protector? Is it 110volts with a seperate ground wire?
Have you tried running a UPS?

Woofer popping

Sounds like a loose connection or a blown speaker. I would try just playing around with the wires to see if you can make it pop, if so, the wire you were messing with is the most likely culprit. Also, verify the sub cone has no damage or cracks. I am betting it i a bad connection or a loose wire.
