Question about Apple Power Mac G5 Desktop
I have a G5 Mac with a GeForce FX 5200 graphics card and a Apple Studio Display, when i open a job in quark (or anything) you cant see a grey box that is placed, upon calibrating the moniter a certain grey wont show. I have changed moniters and it is still the same so i suspect the graphics card has gone, does anybody have any ideas?
This is only a calibration issue. Your monitor is fine. and the card is fine. I would go to your displays preference and go to calabrate your monitor again. This time just choose the calabration from the default one. Ask someone else if they can see the box you just put on there. Sometimes it helps to have a second set of eyes.

If your video card was not working correctly your problem would be evident in other applications as well, I suspect you have a software problem on the computer, most likely with the OS 10 software and possibly a conflict with the version of Quark you are running.
