Two problems: 1. All the CD music I burn do not play in my car's and home stereo. 2. My computer is getting slow in opening programs and files.

are you burning the music cd's in the music format to be converted over and finalize the disk? you cant burn them as mp3s. if your able to fit more then 18 or so songs then you are burning it as an mp3/data disk instead of a music disk. if your computer is getting really slow i recommend you download an anti virus if you haven't already (such as avg FREE) and a spy ware malwayre removal called malwarye bites.

CD drive trying to play CD when drive is empty

Apparently your laptop still thinks there is a cd to play. Be sure you closed down all your programs. I am assuming that you already logged off and shut your computer down and restarted. It could be something as simple as your sensor that detects the cd being in place and just a little dust. Use some clean compressed air that comes in a can and can be bought like at Radio Shack or electronic supply house. Put the nozzle on and blow out any dust that may be in there. Power down and then restart your computer. That should take care of your problem.

Gateway mt3707

the inverter or backlight is on its way out, it won't bother the operating system but you can see nothing, with most inverters its the coil that goes which is fairly inexpensive to fix, if it is the inverter, thats a lot more expensive, what you can do for time being is plug an exteral monitor into the laptop so you use it.

hope this helps

No sound device

remove the first sound device, then restart your computer, to see if vista will see that item. you may need fresh vista drivers for this to work..

i have been playing music videos. i use the fn f4 button to switch the screen. so when i switch i can see the videos on my laptop and on my plazma both. but after awhile i lose the signal and the video only appears on my laptop only. when i hit the fn f4 i can't get it on both screens. it works fine for a while then on the plazma it goes blank.

solution (1)

1. click right mouse button on My Computer Icon

4. click on Device Manager

5. if an exclamation point is present on the highlighted text then your computer have a sound card but the device driver is not installed... if this is the case, then search for the driver.

solution (2)

1. Select Start
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Click on Sound Speech and Audio Devices
4. Click on Adjust the System Volume
5. There should be 2 tick boxes

click on the lower box to display the volume icon in the taskbar..

Note:
this is only applicable if there's a sound card present or the sound card device driver is installed in your system.

If this post does not help please include the Gateway model of your pc... it is much easier to look for a driver if you can provide me with the model...

hope this post can solve your problem... :)
