There is a little ribbon wire that runs from the head unit to the hazard light button. If this comes out you will have these problems.
To fix your problem you must uninstall the stereo. Under the face above where the hazard button installs there is a little slot, you will see pins. You have to line it up right and its tough to push in. Dont crease the ribbon and Bing bang boom your done.

no quick fix there. Dealer would be best option. There have been many issues with the STS, XTS CTS, and ATS radios.
Most problems relate to XM radio, but the issue you mentioned seems to lean toward the "replace it" path.
Best to check with a dealership to see if there is a recall.

Most of the GM's I do are the plug that goes to the instrument panel. They just loose contact, 90% of the time I will unplug and plug them in and that fixes the problem. Some times I have to bend the tabs in the plug to make a snugger fit. Just don't bend to much. One time some one cut the data link connector off and the wires where grounding out intermittantly. That one was a pain.

I replaced a factory cd player and now when i start car my alarm goes off and my remote dosnt work

Unplug your batteries negative terminal and let it sit for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, reinstall the battery cable and see if the security system is reset. A lot of times when removing the radio, the blue security wire comes undone and does not have a place to be plugged back in to the radio, causing the alarm to sound.

Make sure you install all of the wires in your radio. If you have stray wires, this is likely your culprit and will have caused your system to falter. Try grounding the loose wires as a precaution.

Hope this helped!

The radio on my 2001 Kia says ''HOLD''

How long did you leave the battery on hooked. Radio codes are usually written in the owners manual by the dealership. Look in your owners manual in the radio section to see if it tells you anything about (HOLD).
