Question about Whirlpool RBS245PDS Electric Single Oven

I have a GBS307 built-in oven stopped heating

I have a GBS307 built-in oven and twice when I've had it in self-cleaning mode it just stopped heating. The displays are fine and it even said it was pre-heating, but stayed cold. The first time the serviceman said it was some sensor, and is schd. to look at it again tomorrow. Is this a problem anyone else has had?

I also have a GBS307 model and went to pre-heat this morning. The timer timed down as if it was pre-heating, but when I went to open the door and place my pan inside, it was completely cool. Any advice would greatly appreciated.

It has been a while since he was there. Did you have to replace a board? Hopefully, it is fixed.

I have a whirlpool gbs307 oven and after completing a self-clean cycle and wiping it clean after it cooled, it won't heat at all. Any ideas?

HI,
This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

thank you,
vijay

Did this with me twice now on self clean. It's the thermostat on the back of the oven. Set to trip when oven gets too hot which happens with self clean. Part is about $45 - $50 and pretty simple to install. Hardest part is pulling the oven out of the wall.

Self-Clean gets too hot on JTP56 double-oven

Your husband is correct, kind of. You should not try self clean again until you get the oven repaired. You have a temp sensor going out. I doubt that the oven actually got too hot, most likely the resistor in the sensor is failing as it heats up and giving a false temp reading.Since the lower oven was operating at the time, it is probably the sensor in the lower oven. Don't use it for baking until you get it repaired. It will go out completely and shut down both ovens. You should be able to get a new sensor for around $30 and they are not hard to replace.

The oven won't set your house on fire during clean mode if the cabinets were built with the correct air space and dimensions, but they do get very hot, about 800 degrees F. Most ovens give no trouble during the clean cycle, but if there is any weak components in the electronics system it will show up then. It will give you less trouble over time if you don't use the self clean mode and just manually clean it.
