Nuvi garmin gps got wet accidentally

We spilt a drink on our nuvi 760. Now it either won't switch on at all, or when it does switch on, won't stay on. When we first got it wet got a blowdryer and sat trying to dry it. But still no luck.

Try putting it into a ziplock bag with silica gel packs or else uncooked rice. This might wick more of the moisture out. If it doesn't fix it, you'll have to send it in for service.

Won't switch on

I had a similar situation. My 760 could not be switched on, despite a fully charged battery. The hard reset procedure (power button held for 8 seconds) fixed my problem.

Lost the voice on my garmin nuvi

Go to settings, you will see blank box for language settings (where you tell it to use TTS or normal or other spoken language etc.) select language of your choice again. You will be all set. Nuvi tends to loose its voice settings sometimes.

Hi, my 760 had the same problem, and a stutter when speaking street names. I fixed both by upgrading the software to v4.60 using the Garmin Webupdater.

Nuvi 760 garmin got wet accidentally

I dropped my 760 nuvi into the dog's water bowl... (by accident of course)...

It was working but would shut off and eventually would not start.
Using the correct screwdriver with the star head, I removed the two tiny screws at he bottom back of the unit. Gently from the bottom, pry off the back.
Be careful as the battery pack and the speaker wire are still connected.

Using a hairdryer on Medium heat and high fan, air out the unit until all water/condensation is gone.

Before putting back together.... check that the unit works, and charges by connecting thusb to a computer.....

Once content it is working, snap the cover back together and screw in the 2 screws.
