Get a small pin and insert it in the reset hole on the side or bottom of the device. It will format the disk, erase it and reset it to factory settings. You lose everything, but can reinstall it. First open up the drive and copy all songs to your disk or a flash drive, perform reset option then reinstall all music over.
I work for AT&T and have seen this problem on a few BlackJack II's. The way to fix it is to do a master reset on the phone. This will allow it to play again...BE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR CONTACTS AND FILES BECAUSE THESE WILL BE DELETED!! Other than that, it will fix your problems!
You can reset your phone’s settings and clear all added data from memory.
Resetting the Phone
1. On the Home screen, press the Start soft key 2. Select Settings > More… > Security > More… > Reset. 3. Enter the reset password and press the Done soft key. The default password is 0000. 4. Press the Yes soft key to confirm. The phone resets and reboots itself
put the HOLD icon on, and press and hold the RECORD button on the side. After about 2 to 5 seconds, it should come to a screen that says its in recovery mode, and make sure that you have the USB setting set to MSC, not MTP. if this is all in place, you should be able to plug it into your computer and wait for it to tell you when to unplug it and it should fix the problem. Good luck!

Maxwell
There is a built-in memory that saves your settings and keep the clock working while the device is shut-down.
If the device has it built-in. then it's hard to replace it.
If it could be replaced then replace it and you are good to go.
