Bad Disc Error

I have had my Audiovox VE700 for a year. I'm having a problem with the dvd/cd player, every time I put in a disc either dvd or cd player there is an error displayed on the screen "Bad Disc". I have inserted al least 1/2 dozen discs and get the same error. I put the same disc into another dvd or cd player and they play fine. Any suggestions.

Mine was dropped and then I got the message "bad disc" or "disc not recognized." I opened the compartment that holds the CD, took the CD out, and VERY gently with my finger, moved the eye assembly back and forth and pressed it down GENTLY twice to see if I could re-align it, and it worked. I think when it was dropped, it just moved the eye out of position a bit so it couldn't read the DVD properly. I just basically very GENTLY wiggled it around and it went back into its proper position. Apparently it's very sensitive to being dropped! It flew off my child's lap onto the floor board of the car during a sudden stop. It would be nice if it could be outfitted with a strap so it can be secured so it doesn't go flying off the car seat or your lap in the event of sudden stops!

My Audiovox D1817 Portable DVD player power light comes on but nothing on the screen and the disc does not sound like it is turning. What is wrong with it?

Two issues

1, if the CD is not spinning BAD motor, or not getting enought power from the supply.

2. LCD not turning on (bad back light) or power not getting to it

1. replace the A/C apator
1.a try holding a flash light up to the lcd display to see if you see anything. If not then you are not getting full power to the unit you could have a bad power supply or logic board as a whole.

Audiovox is "you get what you paid for device" basically speaking use it for a year and throw it away. Not trying to be blunt but simply put there not quality devices at all.

Take my advice with this following statment "your better off with a new player"

Sanyo DVW 7200 Disc Error

check to see if the disc spins......As in place the disc in the DVD player with the label in a position that is readable to you....Put the disc in close the tray and wait a few seconds. Open the tray and se if the disc actualy has moved. If it hasent then the motor is bad and not worth replacing!

Look for dust, dirt or foreign object on the laser lens under where you put the disc in. Maybe blow some clean air on it.
