Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Sound/Audio went out after logging out of Skype. Don't think Skype had anything to do with it...if there is such a thing as a soundboard, I think it went SNAFU.

Just restart the computer . double click on the speaker icon and see master volume/wave is muted or not. If there is no icon, insert the motherboard cd and install sound drivers.

Why does my TV sound only work through my soundbar?

Have you plugged the soundboard into the headphone output and the audio settings are set to mute the speakers? Remove sound bar and go to audio settings. If all else fails reset to factory settings.

I dont have sound on my laptop

A general case might be to take the stereo headphone output of the laptop and feed it a set of left and right line level (not microphone level) inputs to the soundboard. Radio Shack sells a cable that has a typical mini stereo headphone plug on one end and a pair of RCA Phono plugs on the other end. If the soundboard does not have phono jack inputs you will need some type of adapter plug on the ends of the cable phono plugs to match the soundboard's connector.

You then experiment with the laptop's volume control setting (start low) and the soundboard's input level control to get undistorted sound with minimum noise and hum. If you can not get rid of the hum, you probably need to add a ground loop isolation box (also available from Radio Shack, I believe) to reduce or eliminate the hum. __________________

Sound went limp i think it the crossover

Define limp. No highs or no volume?

Logically, what one thing would affect both speakers? Logically, how would a crossover failure mute anything but the tweeter?

So, what happened just BEFORE this problem appeared?

I'd look at the electronics.

I cannot hear anything on Skype. No sound at all on skype. What should I do?

Sometimes the Skype audio settings drop off and the Audio settings need to be selected again.
Open Skype - Tools - Options - Audio Settings and select the computer's sound card and adjust the sound level THEN click on Save.

Getting clear audio to televisions from a soundboard

I think you should buy a video sender. It will take audio from your audio console and send wireless to a free channel to any free TV channel. No cables!

Here's one on ebay:

I would suggest upgrading your Skype version if possible.

Microphone does not work

Yes, sometimes Skype messes with your hardware settings and sets it up to what "skype thinks works best", if you have System Restore turned on, try going back to the time before you installed that version of Skype.

Also, look in your Device Manager settings for anything screwy.
