Question about Nikon D100 Digital Camera

2 Answers

Black Spot Hello there, can you help me pls? I've misplaced my manual and need to do something. Have a d100 Nikon and it's got a black dot appearing on the images. I've cleaned the lens with a puffer and that hasn't fixed it. Jessops, who I brought the lens off last year, said there is a self clean option on camera in settings somwhere but as I can't find my book wondered of you could help. If that doesn't correct iy, there's a pen cleaner and if that doesn't fix it, it needs further investigation. I'm no pro and was lucky to buy camera 2nd hand and it's been excellent, just this dot... Any idea's ?

It's probably a speck of dust on the image sensor behind the shutter. If you can't find the cleaning mode in the Menu, set the camera to the M setting and rotate the dial to Bulb. Press and hold the button while you blow the sensor ( blue/green glass ) - BE SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE SENSOR and don't let the shutter close while you're blowing the sensor.

If you're not comfortable doing it, most camera repair shops will do it while you wait.

Hm, the photo doesn't work properly, could you re-upload it? And did you check the manual for your specific device? If not, you can find it here: Nikon D100 PDF Manual Download

My tv screen has a black spot

HI,
Are you sure that there is balck dot on the sreen. Check one more time is it any dust on the screen.
Black spot Means pixel of the Lcd sreen is fault. There are thousands of pixels in an lcd screen. when any of the pixel or a group of pixels become faulty the black spot will appear. Its not possile to rectify the problem other than replacing the LCD panle if its avilable. The avilability of lcd screen is very rare.

I just bought a Nikon D60 on ebay,Theres a black dot in all pics

My guess is that you have a dust spot in the camera on the mirror. This is not a user fixable ptoblem unless you are very well versed on camera repair. I would take to a camera store and have them clean the mirror.

A black spot keeps appearing in my photos nikon D80

It seems that there is some dust particle on the sensor. Try cleaning the sensor as per the instructions in the manual and then check. In case the spot still appears, then the CMOS sensor might be damaged / burned out and you will need to replace it.

Nikon D100: suddenly all the pictures are black

Ellen,
When shooting with the D100 do you have the dial on top of camera set to 'Auto'? If so, then most likely you have some how adjusted to the exposure compensation, so your photos are underexposing.
To reset your camera to the factory default settings:
Hold down the bracket and flash button for two
seconds.
These are the buttons marked with a green dot
Take a test photo and see if that works.

Black files ???

Check the shutter to see if it is opening properly. Set a slower manual speed and look into the mirror box area with the lens off.
