    hi there,

I wonder if you can tell me a bit more aboutyour problem?

does the hot water come from a combi boiler or from a hot water cylinder?

If its from the hot water cylinder it could be a motorised valve problem thats not working but gives you central heating.

If its a combi it sounds like a diverter valve problem

    Hope to hear back soon

    Kindly

    Richie

I HAVE WORCESTER 24SI BOILER , THE HEATING IS WORKING BUT NO HOT WATER THANKS.

Hi Mustafa, you are going to need a Gas Engineer to fix this one. It could either be the Hot water sensor or the flow switch that activates the water to come on. Good Luck.

Water to hot for gas boiler boiler gos off

It could be dyslexia, but I think you want to know what may be wrong with your boiler in this case!
This is a VERY old design. The diaphragm is on the water section, this operates a switch to turn ON the pump, and a further device causes the diverter valve to divert boiler water from CH duty to HW duty.
From your description it appears that the boiler is shutting down on internal boiler water temperature (too high), your 'briefly too hot' HW symptom may be caused either by the boiler side of the secondary heat exchanger being blocked/caked in sludge, OR the DHW side of it being scaled. Either way a new or replacement (descaled) secondary heat exchanger MAY inprove things. It's not easy on these old clunk-pots, and EVERY disturbed seal will subsequently leak, so get a good supply of o-rings and fibre seals before you start ("you" being the competant fitter you employ)

I have an ariston 20/24 mffi combi pressure rises when switched to central heating but pressure ok when asking for hot water ? expansion vessel ?

over heat limit stat on central heating circuit ? if hot water is ok and hot to temp when run for 5 minutes the expansion vessel is doing its job.remember hot water is the maximum demand for any boiler ,,heating is secondry?once you establish hot water at maximum rate then the only real problem is on you demand for heating??

Hi,
In most cases problems with the circulator pump boil down to two problems.
The most common is air in the lines causing an air lock.
The next problem is that the pump gets stuck and is not running even though itmay be hot and seem to be running. In this cause the pump can sometimes betaken apart, cleaned and it will work, but usually it needs to be replaced.

Here is a tip that I wrote that will explain circulator pump problems in moredetail.

I've got a pressure problem on my glow worm 35ci combi boiler

check to see if you have a mid position valve or a 3 way valve
the mid position will give hot primary supply to both your hot water cylinder and your heating circuit if both stats are asking for heat.
you cant really get spares for these type of valves you are probably better off changing it if it is causing problems.

Combi boiler no DHW

if the boiler fires when the tap is opened then the diverter valve is working ok it must be a blocked plate heat exchanger which is the stainless steel rectangular block inside the boiler connected to the pump and the mains cold water.
it will be blocked on the central heating part probably with black scale. it is possible to clean out but sometimes it is better to just change the plate. but remember to flush the system as well or the same thing will happen.
