I have a duotherm AC unit. Which two wires do I jump to bypass the thermostat

Hey David if you are wanting to bypass the thermostat to make the air conditioner come on you would take r which should be red and y which should be yellow,. Tie them together. This gives the outside unit a constant 24volts( call for cool). If it is a heat pump you would also want to take o which mostly is orange and tie them with the red and yellow to energize reversing valve. If not it will be jumped out but be in heat mode. R to w(white) would turn your heat strips on. If your thermostat is bad and you plan on leaving it like this temporarily also take g (green) and tie it to red and yellow. G is your inside fan. Basically r is your 24volts so you tie it to what u want to jump out y= outside unit o/b=reveesingvalve if heat pump g= inside blower w{ inside heat strips. C is common never jump c to r or you will blow a fuse or transformer only reason you would have c at thermostat is so it can run without batteries. Hope this helps

How do I bypass my Honeywell D896 vent dampner?

The furnace was probably originally equiped with a damper bypass plug that was removed to install the vent damper. Of course some were hardwired in as an accessory. But look inside the furnace vestibule or in the homeowner instruction envelop and see if the original installed tossed the plug in there during installation. That would be GREAT !!!!

Without the wiring diagram of the furnace AND the vent damper, I cannot give you specific input on the wiring. But the damper has to have 24v to operate it and there has to be a switch circuit for making and breaking the gas valve control circuit.

You may have to call a service company to get your issue safely resolved.

Need to how the power source will be hooked up, and how, it will wire into a 13 SEER Goodman Packaged Unit, with HKR-15 strips. wire size?= 15 Ft. run: panel to unit

Minim 20 amp circuit ... is this 110 or 220? You need to know.

20 amp circuit needs to have #12 wire. If 110 Volts, you need a black, white and green #12. If 220 Volts you need a black, a red, and a green. If you have anything IN the unit that needs 110 (probably not), you need black, Red, White and Green (bare) #12 wire. Definitely needs to be on a dedicated circuit. If your unit has a resistance heater (electric) you will need a 30 amp circuit (probably 220) which needs #10 wire minimum. 220 volt breakers are double. You will need two spaces in your panel box. Would not hurt to put in heavier wire (#8) protected by a 30 amp breaker ... $ is the governing factor.

Having said all of that --- you should be reminded that I dont even know what country you are in nor your prevailing voltage nor what your national or local codes require. My comments based on installing several Goodman products over several years on the Eastern Seaboard.

I have a fedders A24C1X air handler and i am replacing the transformer. i was instructed to buy a universal one which i did. i belive i figured out the wiring. my new ones common is white and the orange...

First check the voltage on the red and green wires on the new transformer -- it should read 24 volts AC. If this is the case, the red and green wires would go to the contactor / relay 24-volt coil terminals -- wouldn't matter which one is connected to which side of the relay coil.

The boiler does not fire when hot water is selected although the red light is on. However the boiler fires ok when central heating is switched on and this does then heat the water. Is the problem in the...

Hi. and you are correct, if the boiler fires when the controller is set for central heating to come on, but does not fire when calling for hot water, the controller is either faulty, or not programmed properly. This is what tells the boiler to do on command, so, this is all that it could be.If you no anything about this controller as far as how it is set up, is it a programmable one, voltage on it, does it have wiring terminals on it that are labeled and can you get to them? If you can, and the wires are labeled, you can jumper them out to see if you can bypass the circuitry and get it to fire up on a call for hot water. This is the way to test it, very easy. You have to look at the wiring schematics to find the wires that are 1-hot and 2- hot water control. Jump across the 2 wires and if it fires, the controller is faulty. Careful if this is a high voltage controller as 120/208/230 volt. Check this out first. It can still be done, you just have to be careful not to ground yourself out. It maybe 24 volts. If it is higher voltage, you can kill power and get a insulated lead/jumper wire with clips on each end. Clip them to the terminals you want to jump out and turn on power. This way you are not touching anything. Please let me know the outcome on this and please when rating me as being helpful to you, be kind. I thank you. I will be here if you have more questions or need my help.

Electrical Short in Printed Circuit Board.

Hi, do you know what these wires were for? You can bypass the board, but if the wires are for lets say the blower motor and you bypass and put them to direct hot legs, you will run all the time, or what ever shorted the block in the first place must have a short. Its probably in the wires at this block and if you apply it to 120 volts it may fry again. I would follow these wires back to see what they run first. Yes, it can be done.

Drayton Digistat SCR thermostat not working.

Go online to www.cheapboilers.com who deal with this type of boiler. It would be very difficult to troubleshoot this boiler with the information supplied. I hope this will be of some help to you.

They should also be able to get you a manual for your thermostat.
