You will want to revert back to Mail Classic in order to have this feature back. You can suggest to Yahoo that this is the main reason for switching back. They may integrate this feature into the new version in the future.
To return to Classic Mail, you'll need to follow the instructions below, and have a bit of patience as this will be a manual reset, done by Yahoo.
You will need to contact Yahoo at the address below. Please follow these instructions in order to return.
email@example.com Please put in the subject line: I want to return to Mail Classic.

HotMail, Yahoo and other free services: There's really no way to change an email address. The best you can do is create a new account with a new name, and start using it, and at the same time simply stop using the old account with the old name. good luck, and do rate if got help
Check your internet connection first...It should work fine.
Regarding Yahoo!mail account, I've also experienced that one so I use the Yahoo!mail classic in order to see my emails. And it worked for me everytime. Hope this helps...
m.www.yahoo.com is the new beta site for Yahoo! This site is a temporary site whcih allows you to enjoy the new features implemented by yahoo! Some of the new features you will notice is the flight out "what you see is what you get" menu bars which allow you to do everything on one page, which is the Yahoo! page.
Eventually, the yahoo site will take over the www.yahoo.com but for now (while in beta) it resides with that domain name.
Yahoo mail is a funny animal.. The best thing you can do, in your case, is to email Yahoo at their contact us address and tell them what your problems are ! It may take several day's before you recv. a answer but if you have no flags with yahoo and have or have had an account with yahoo, they may be able to help you out. Caution... Never give out your email information and really never give out your password information. Hope this has helped you.!?! Readers, Please rate your technicians. Thanks, John Ray firstname.lastname@example.org
I've had the same problem as mikeforma. My problem had to do with the the All New Yahoo mail. When I went back to Yahoo Classic the problem went away.
Here's how I fixed it. (1) Sign into Yahoo. (2) Click Yahoo mail. (3) At the 'blank screen' , copy an paste this url: http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s… <then press enter> (4) Say YES to opt out of the All New Yahoo mail.
Hopefully it should work for anyone having similar problems. It did for me.
I found the solution here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080115191554AAbQizr
I see the What's New section advertising that feature. It says to look above your personal folders in Mail Classic and you'll see the chat module. I think they must've made a typo, because I only get the chat module above my personal folders in "New" Yahoo Mail (see screenshot). Do you actually have the chat features above your personal folders in Mail Classic?
