SOURCE: Sony a350. Camera motor makes grinding noise when

A few years ago that noise was extremely common on almost all body motor driven AF lenses, and it's not exactly uncommon these days.

Your kit lens is not bad, but it is built down to a price as a get-you-started measure. It's not built as well as the upgrade alternatives and is certainly not built to last nor with repairs in mind.

Your fix is to eventually replace your lens, preferably with one which has a built in motor which will be near silent and far faster to focus. Note that if your lens has become harder work for your camera body focus motor to operate then it will put an extra strain on the motor and can shorten it's lifespan.

Sony a350. Camera motor makes grinding noise when turning on and off. Noise lasts 1-2 seconds. Was not dropped or bumped. Local camera shop said lens not camera.

Lens will not extend, keep getting "turn the power off and on again" message.

Try grabbing the end of the lens while its coming out. That might free up and realign the lens. If you hear a grinding noise when the lens is moving, than your gears are chewed up. If it needs repairs go to esupport.sony.com Hope this helps

Sigma lens on Sony makes grinding noise, AF no longer works

The problem you are encountering is with the screw head interface between the lens and the camera body. They just are not locking together properly. Sounds like you need to send her in for repair.

Every time i turn it on it will make a grinding noise ant it wont stop

If the grinding noise occurs while you have a disc inside then it could be the len rubbing against the Cd. This problem normally happens in Slim Line editions of playstation2's. If the disc is blue coated, the playstation2's lens finds it hard to read the disc. Resulting in the lens moving closer to the disc. This is avoidable, try standing up your playstation. Or avoiding Blue coated disc.

Try damper part number W10167268 from Whirlpool. They re-engineered the part, it's works different. Whirlpool issued a bulletin to servicers, but won't cover it under warranty (I have tried for many customers) "A bulletin is NOT a recall"

Not loading game

the reason it makes the "grinding" noise is because the motor that moves the lens to read the disk is dieing, this generally happens when you have played your ps2 for a long time, this only happens to older consoles.

Grinding noise when playing Premier Manager 2008

If your not getting the same problem with other games and you have cleaned the laser lens then it's going to be down to a faulty disk. The store you purchased the game from should replace it for you or you can have it replaced by Zoo Digital but this involves sending the disk to them and can be time consuming.
