Display is Not Full Screen

AOC monitor is attached to my laptop. I hit some buttons when moving it and now the image from my laptop is not displaying on the full screen. There is about an inch of black on the sides and an inch and a half at the top and bottom.

first, I would check screen cable. try replacing it with a new one, you will be surprised to know how many display problems are are caused by a defected screen cable. in case this is not the problem, it can get more complicated, but first, just in case, reinstall drivers. its a long shot, but if you get lucky it will save you alot of pain. in case it didn't help, It's probably a bad vertical output chip. if you have some familiarity with monitors and decent soldering skills you could probably fix it yourself, but I would advise looking into taking it to a shop, or at least find an experienced hobbiest if you're not yourself. It's a pretty straightforward fix for someone who knows what they're doing. good luck.

Confusion installing drivers on Dell Latitude 120L laptop running XP

to run duel screens you will need a graphic board that has 2 outlets
I run a nvidia board and it has a dvi and vga outlets connected to 2 monitors
open up the control panel and go to display

that will show 2 screens and they will be identified as 1 and 2
the printing will be for one screen and it will say -make this my main screen
further down will be a dropdown box that will have extend screen
click on that
as for the screen size or pixal settings click and drag the slide button up to the top and click on apply
any way in that display section you can move and click on different settings to get what you want, always apply to fix the settings selected
it will come back with a message --do you want to retain the settings and if you are happy --click on yes
regardless of what you choose , you can always reset at a later time

Had the same problem! Solve it: go to the AMD catalist and choose advanced look. then inside the digital display setting you'll see scalling option that will show 10% . Set it to 0%. Done!overscan.png

The left side of the computer display is blank. How can that be fixed?

Please let me know what make and model of computer and computer monitor you are dealing with.

In general, without having any additional information, I can say that on computer monitors there are settings to change the picture width and height controlled by buttons on either the front, side or top of the monitor. There is generally a menu button, buttons to move the selection and then the settings.

If you are dealing with a laptop, there are some with backlights, or small light bulbs in the LCD that light up the screen.

You can also go to your device manager and look to see if your video and display devices are shown to be working correctly. A faulty video card, display module, video driver or display driver could be to blame. These have to be ruled out to find the actual problem. Can you hook up to another monitor and get a full display?

Some of my answer depends if you are seeing the full image of the windows desktop on half of the display or only seeing half of the image windows desktop on half the screen.

Please give me more detail about the problem you are experiencing and I will be able to find a more specific answer for you,

I will wait to hear from you,

Brian

Has a blue dialog box that says out of range

Hello

It sounds like you have two separate problems.

The first one is the "out of range" issue. This means you are trying to display a screen resolution that is too high or too low and your monitor cannot display any image. Reboot your computer with another monitor or into safe boot mode and change the resolution to an industry standard (800x600 / 1024x786) and then see if your monitor will display the image. Once you can see the image on your monitor, you can make adjustments and it will automatically revert back if you cannot see the new display settings.

Update your video graphics card drivers to get the best possible resolution.

As for the buttons on the front of the monitor not working, this may be caused by the "out of range" issue above. It could also indicate that your monitor may be going bad. Try the above steps - if you get no image from the monitor, try moving the monitor to another known good computer and see if the button functionality works after it displays an image.

I have purchased an AOC 22" monitor to connect to my laptop >>>>>i have connected it but it does not display. What is wrong.

Depending on the laptop. Most have a key on the keyboard to toggle external display. Usually, you have to hold the function key [FN] then push the external display toggle.
