Question about Samsung L100 Digital Camera

Windows doesn's recognize camera, device manager says no driver

I installed the driver for my new samsung L100 digital camera on my daughter's computer and was able to connect via USB just fine. On my computer the driver installation completed but windows xp professional doesn't recognize the device. In device manager the device is also not recognized and properties states no driver installed. In check-it diagnostics it states the device failed renumeration. I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver several times. The card reader in the same USB port connects fine.

I have the exact same problem. The Samsung people had me install a Windows service pack and updates which didn't change anything. Another Samsung person said go to "Removable Disk" under My Computer, DCIM folder, 100SSCAM and save to a folder. Can't - when I go to My Computer, Removable Disk, it says insert something into the G drive. I don't know what to do. The camera is attached when I do this which is what they told me to do.

Hi -

Have you tried another USB port? Sometimes, they can act goofy.
Also be sure your anti-virus isn't blocking any part of the installation.

Here is a link to the Samsung troubleshooting guide for your camera.
You can probably download the most recent driver from that website as well.
Perhaps they have a better or newer version than what came prepackaged
with the camera (just because a camera is a new purchase does not mean
the software it came with is the most updated).

I run WinXP home edition, so I am not familiar if there are any differences in the professional version regarding software installation....

Good luck!

How to upload my pictures to the computer? how to install device?

Click HERE and find the L100 model. A new window will open, pick the preferred language and download the user manual.

You can either remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into the computer, or use the USB/power cable to connect it to the computer and transfer the pictures that way.

Instead of reading a long drawn out explanation that may be more confusing, look at the manual and the pictures for a more efficient answer. If you need any of the drivers for the camera, they can be downloaded from the same page.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi I am trying to get my daughters stylin studio to work, but the camera wont. In my device manager i can see its connected, but the USB Human Interface Device has a yellow exclammation mark next to it....

Brian,

Go to the manufacturers website and download the most current driver. Go to device manager and uninstall the device.
Run the driver install that you downloaded and then reboot the computer.
It should pick up driver you installed.
You are probably seeing the ! because windows loaded a generic driver and the device does not recognize it.

I have a camera Canon A590is, that is not being recognize by the laptop. In the device manager the "Canon Digital Camera" has a yellow marker. After trying to reinstall the driver, a error message "Cannot...

You didn't say what operating system you are using in your PC. If you have Windows XP or later follow these instructions. Since you apparently have the driver and software on a CD, unplug the camera from your PC, remove the camera software from the PC, remove the driver using the Device manager, restart the PC, then plug your camera into the USB port. Allow the operating system to find the correct driver when it notifies you of finding a "New Device". Normally that will solve the problem. If it does not, then reload the software.

Usb device not recognize

You mentioned that you uninstalled the unknown device from the Device manager. If you uninstall it then connected your usb flash drive you will see an error again on your device manager. This means that the driver for your usb port is not properly installed.

To install it, visit dell website, look for the model of your machine and locate the driver, download it then install from your machine.

Connection between camera and computer

What operating system are you using? Is you camera connected via USB? Have you tried using another USB port? Did you make sure to install the software before plugging in your camera?

Generally if you are running Windows 98, you will need to reboot after installing the software to even have a chance of the camera being recognized correctly.

If you are running Windows 2000, XP or Vista, the camera should be recognized and a driver installed or searched for from the CD software you installed before plugging in the camera.

Sometimes if you plug in the camera first without installing the software, the PC finds a new device with no driver. You can see this by going to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager and you should see and exclamation on a device in the list. You need to remove this item and reboot your PC.

Now install the software first and when the install is done, then plug in your camera. Generally this works out pretty well.

System not recognizing mp3

I had a very similar problem with a USB camcroder, drove me crazy! This sounds like a USB device not being recognized, this issue is rather uncommon with XP, it's not the player or device, unless the device is not working proplerly. 9 out of 10 times it's system device manager.

(Solution)
With the device plugged into the USB go to control panel and click on system and navigate to your device manager hardware>device manager, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, there should be either an X or an exclamation mark indicating the device/driver is not loaded properly, right click on that line and chose uninstall driver, reboot then plug the device in, if it asks for a driver then put in the CD and let the driver install it. If this still does not work, then repeat the above but instead of choosing uninstall when you right click choose "update driver" and when it asks for a location to the driver, point it to the driver on the CD.

Hope this helps
