Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

1 Answer

I have a D Link WBR 2310 router. I had it set up for wireless network on my home laptop. It was always configured for immediate access (no pwd required), secured with wpa. I try to connect with my work laptop, but can't. In messing around with the connection on my home computer it was suggested that I reset the router. Now I can't access anything. Please help

Did you reset to factory defaults or just unplug the router?  If you hit the reset button, you'll have to go in and set everything back up.   Have you tried to connect via webbrowser connected to the router from your home computer?  go to 192.168.0.1 and see if you can connect to the router to see what's going on.

Configure d-link wbr 2310 and now wont connect

Hi mech_warrior,

Press the reset button of the d-link router for 30 seconds, unplug and plug the power cord.

MAC cloning is used for Cable ISP configuration but that should not affect the router's functionality (odd router behavior) ;-)

That should do it!

Hello there i just wanted to secure my

If you configure the wireless router with encryption and you configure your wireless card in your computer with the router's encryption settings, then other computers cannot access your router wirelessly unless they know the encryption setting. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to secure your wireless router :-

I have a Sony Vaio laptop and my internet (Time Warner) works when connected directly into the laptop, but will not when the cable is connected to the D-Link to the WBR-2310 router. I think it's...

reboot your modem(power it off for about 10-15 secs), reset your router. make sure your laptop is disconnected from the modem when doing this. Modem needs to catch router's ip address. Start your laptop and search wireless networks. look for your d-link router and connect. Now this is assuming you didn't firewall your router, which in tun you will need to enter your key to connect.

For that first connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user name as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then configure your router as WEP.
Then go to wi fi security and set WEP key it is your password to connect your internet . Enable DHCP . Also check in wi fi that wireless is enabled. Check WAN settings and set it to your internet service provider settings like DNS .

I can't access manually my wbr-2310 (modem router dsl-500b)

you need to configure the wireless on the router through a cable connection at first. after logging in on the router (default admin login and password should be mentioned in the router's manual) you can enable the wireless and the DHCP. to access the router, open an internet browser window and surf to the address http://192.168.0.1, where you will be asked to fill in the admin password.
please keep us posted on any evolution

The way to access your routers options to allow access to ports and other configurations can be done by opening an explorer window.
You then type in the address of your network to access the page. Typically you will know this from the documentation when you set it up, or if you manually changed it. Most commonly it should be 192.0.0.1 or something like that if set as default.
