Download Malware bytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Load it and update it then run it. You can use the free version as it will do the same as the pay version minus a few options. It is very good for finding a removing virus's and other nasty things.

How to Uninstall Unwanted Programs?

As we know that it?s more difficult to uninstall programs than installing them. It?s observed that programs always leave their update folder or some DLL files. Some programs even leave their registry values in system registry. That?s why these programs still pop up after being uninstalled and strange DLL errors appear. Control panel is the most common method to uninstall a program. But it can?t completely remove all components of a program.

Users sometimes want to uninstall and reinstall a program, but there will be a pop up saying that program has been installed and our users can?t find it. Some users want to change their anti-virus or anti-spyware and uninstall them thru control panel. When they install another anti-virus or anti-spyware, there is another pop up saying their previous anti-virus or anti-spyware is still there, please uninstall it first.

In the above cases, users can?t find the uninstalled programs nor install the new ones. When users uninstall programs with Perfect Uninstaller, it will uninstall the program and scan the registry for the left over entries as well as drivers for the left over files. These three steps ensures a complete...

How to restore the original dll

Steps
  1. 1Missing Dll files that somehow disappear can cause your computer to act in strange ways, such as not shutting down properly. A means to determine this is a system disk scan which comes with Norton anti-virus. For instance Norton has a good 'Windoctor' that makes repairs automatically. It is suggested that if one removes Norton anti virus for a free virus program, they retain Norton Utilities/ WinDoctor and Speed Disk for defragging.

  2. 2Always run a virus check on anything one downloads before they open it. Remove programs that one doesn't use or need. Too many programs clog up the machine. Do periodic defragging. Anytime one downloads or removes programs, music etc. plus the normal creation of files, it fragments the computer and slows and confuses its proper function. "When system files are overwritten, such as .sys, .dll, .ocx, .ttf, .fon, and .exe files, system performance becomes unpredictable, programs behave erratically, and the operating system fails".
  3. 3If it is determined that one has one or more missing Dll file(s) that can be identified, they can be replaced. Find on say Google, a site that offers free Dll file downloads. Look for missing Dll. Download and Unzip the file to desktop. For this you need Winzip or WinRAR to extract file.

There may be malware that is interfering with your ant-virus software. Make sure you have the latest virus definition file on your system. Alternatively uninstall and reinstall the anti-virus and update the Virus definition file of your Anti-virus. You must act quickly and remove your system from the network or the internet

Hi kja2 ,

2 anti-virus software can not co-exist on a computer system ; therefore you did the correct thing by uninstalling the old anti-virus first . However , there are lots of anti-viruses which do not get deleted (uninstalled) by going to Start > control panel > Add/Remove program. These anti-virus have to be removed by special "uninstallers" . I do not know which Anti-virus you have on your system , therefore I will provide you with the link of most common anti-virus uninstallers :

Symantec: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039
McAfee: http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/displayDoc.asp?docID=408302&categoryId=246&lastCategoryLog=1&HotT
Trend Micro: http://esupport.trendmicro.com/support/viewxml.do?ContentID=EN-1033129

once the antivirus is removed through the uninstaller , then try installaing the new anti-virus which was giving you "files corrupt" message ... it will then work fine.
Also , . I would like to suggest you a very good anti-virus which you can download free of cost from internet :

Desktop and Task bar disappearing

You computer is infected by the spyware virus try to run in the safemode and download and install spyware doctor of pctools also the registry mechanic this two utilities is very helpful in term of spyware virus. But sometime if your computer infected by the UST.AVI virus you cannot install any program even the anti virus. The virus automatically close any program you install to prevent the anti virus to install in the system. If this happen the only way to salvage the files is reinstall the windows in the other directory then after you finished install windows. You can copy now the the files in the old directory copy of the windows your needed files. and delete the old windows directory permanently.
