Question about Wharfedale Moviestar 70+ System

Open Question

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE CONNECTIONS

For Wharfdale Movie Star 70+ speaker system

i want to apply a stereo input to the unit
to create a simple stereo field
my audio source is simple stereo, not Surround Sound

Do I apply an audio input to the audio in?
what are the speaker level inputs for (my guess alternate inputs)

The unit has a self powered subwoofer, a mid unit and four satellite units, (Tweeters)

how do i connect the satellites?

there are two pairs of speaker outputs, left and right, on the rear panel of the self powered sub woofer, ..........i am assuming if i take my left right speaker outputs from my home stereo units to the speaker inputs of the sub wooffer, and attach the mid unit to the first stereo speaker output, i would attach the tweeters satellite units to the remaining pair of speaker outputs......i guess whith the remaining pair of tweeters in series

SOURCE: Wharfdale moviestar 70 speekers and sub

i have the same moviestars 70+ plus a yamaha rx-v750 put the crossover on the sub to maximum (left knob) volume (right knob) about 2/3 clockwise. change the crossover on the yamaha to anywhere from 80-120 ( the 120 will put more bass to the sub) if your yamaha has sub level/volume control set it higher, also if it has LFE/sub out set it to sub only.
Good luck!

SOURCE: I have a Cerwin Vega E-315 speaker and the Woofer

Pull speaker so you can get to the terminals in back. Take an ohm meter and check the ohms of speake, a 4ohm speaker could measure up to 5ohms and still be good. If the reading is way off then it is blown. If speaker is good, then check the cross over thats in the speaker, some models put fuses on the units for protection, but mostley on the high frequency of the cross over, not the low.

if thats the case i have a simple suggestion. wire used for doorbells has no place between an amplifier and a speakers. you could try obeying for a set of modus cube speakers. they're great and cheap. between 10 and 25 GBP a pair. you may even be able to find the centre speaker. if not just get 6 speakers or 3 pairs. use 5 of the 6 and keep a spare. wharfdale modus cube main speakers
or Wharfedale Modus Cube Main Stereo Speakers
theres 2 sets easy to find.

I have a 42" LG plasma TV with a number of different inputs including a spare HDMI and component sockets, but have no idea whether there is a cable or convertor to allow me to connect to the amplified base...

do you have a cable box? with your wharfdale set-up, you could run the video from the cable box into the tv, and run the seperate audio oupputs from the cable box into the wharfdale.

thats really the most common way to run audio, either that or through hdmi- either way, you will need to hqave a cable box to complete the set-up, cause not that many tv's have audio or hdmi outputs.

your tv must have audio line input connectors, plug it there and select that input function on your tv it usually activates on the video button on your remote control unit

Hi there Could somebody please tell me whether the WHARFEDALE ZALDEK Z-2000's are 20 watts RMS or 200 watts RMS? On eBay they are describing them as 200 watts RMS but on other websites they are saying...

They are 200 watts is peak and 20 watts is rms. Definitely not a lot of watts. I don't think I would recommend it for what you are looking for. Hope this helps if you need any other assistance please let me know.
Thank you,
Lee

Getting stereo speakers to work with flat panel tv

if you hook the low-level audio-out from the tv to an input to the stereo unit, whatever you play on tv will send audio to surround/stereo reciever unit. look on back of tv for red &white AUDIO OUTPUT terminals. plug red/white audio cables from tv to the back of your stereo & plug into audio input of an open source on stereo (tv/video,aux. in,etc.) good luck!

Installation Help

This means that you have purchased a three piece home theatre system. Two tweeters and a sub-woofer. Assuming you are using a Stereo player (Tape/CD/DVC)you have to connect the Left Output of the Stereo placer to the Left Input at the back of the Sub-Woofer and the Right output to the Right input of the subwoofer by cables. Then take tweeters and connect them to Right speaker and Left speaker output at the back of the sub-woofer ( note if the speakers are marked L/R, then connect them to the subwoofer output accordingly. In case you are using a 5.1 player, then only connect the front right and front left to the Right and Left input at the back of the subwoofer. You are and you can now start playing your music or movies and and you will get theatre quality sound.

Use the remote and switch it to be in the sub mode (top right corner of remote) It is here (in the sub mode) that you can change volume and inputs.
