Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Scanner problem When I attempt to scan a documnet, I push the "scan to" button " choice "save to a file" appears on the printer screen then I push the "start scan" button, on the screen appears "scanning to save to file", after a few minutes the orange exclamation light starts blinking and on the printer screen "scanning error: Press Enter to continue. Cannot connect to PC" When I press Enter the orange exlamation goes off and the date again appears on the printer screen

Hi s2009edwards, double check the USB data cable from the printer to the computer. Power off the printer. Than, unplug the data cable connected to the printer & re-connect it. Follow the data cable to the PC & unplug the cable & re-connect it. Power on the printer & wait until its done making noise. Try scanning again. If it fails to complete & you receive the same error message than buy a new printer data USB cable & replace the old one.

If the HP director software is installed (Which it should be).
You can open HP printer software there should be an HP icon down by the clock. Right click on it once & left click open or launch. If you did not install your HP printer software suggest you do so.

I think you will need to run the cd installer again to install the scanner driver on your printer.

You can check if the driver of the scanner was successfully installed once you view on the Scanners & Cameras inside the Control Panel and see the image of your printer scanner. It means it is connected and ready to be used. If you can not see the icon of the printer scanner there, then, it could not be installed or the printer is attached to other pc in the network.

Remember to use the printer as scanner, it should be attached locally to the pc you are using. Pressing the Scan button in the printer will save the scanned documents in the computer as pdf files.
In order to save the documents as jpeg files, you must need to use the scan option on the Scanners & Cameras inside the Control Panel.

Please clarify a few things for me so I can help you solve this issue.

Are you trying to scan from the printer to the computer? (pushing the scan command on the printers keypad to send the signal to the computer)

OR

Are you trying to scan from the computer to the printer? (Using the scan options in your software by choosing "start" and then "programs" and opening your printers software to choose the scan option)

If your scanning from printer to computer (using the printers scan option on the keypad) and your getting an error code, chances are the problem is you have not set up your defaults in the printers menu yet. To scan from printer to computer, the printer needs to know which program you want your document to scan to in your computer. If its a text document, some people choose "Microsoft Word" and the scan fuction sends your item to that program and opens it for viewing on your computer screen.

There are different programs to use for each type of fax that need to be set up in advance in your printer to be able to scan from printer to computer. Send pictures to a photo editing software and choose the size and resolution you want as "default". Do the same for setting up text documents before you try and use this feature to eliminate the error code.

To configure your options to scan from printer to pc, push the "menu" button on your printer and use the up and down arrows on the printers keypad to move through the choices. Find the command similar to "scan options" and follow the prompts to set the defaults on handling text documents and pictures and then save your choices by pushing the "ok" button on the printers keypad.

Try scanning again with your computer turned on and open to the desktop. Push the scan button on the printer and see if it sends the image or document to your computer screen. It should warm up, then scan and show a preview on your screen for you to accept or reject. If this does not happen, please asnwer my questions as listed above and clarify what you see so I can help solve this issue right now.

You have to associate that button, with a storage directory, you must set up the preferences, and tell the scanner where to save the scanned file.

Double Click on HP Solution Center icon to open. The HP icon will be on your desktop or in your start menu. It is the icon that materializes after you use the CD to install your HP scanner or multifunction printer. (It may appear slightly different depending on the model and type of HP scanner or printer).
Place the document or photo on the glass platen in the proper corner. There is an arrow that illustrates proper placement in HP scanners and printers.
Click the settings button on the bottom of the HP Solution center screen. It appears as a wrench. This will assist in setting up your scanner or all-in-one HP printer to scan at the touch of a button. Follow the on-screen prompts for photos and documents. Then, scan by clicking the Scan Picture or Scan Document button as appropriate.
Select the proper choice once you scan, such as save to file (specify where) or email (You also can set up a folder ahead of time so you know where to find the document or photos once they are scanned). Often times the computer will create a default my scans folder and organize them by saving them by date and month scan.
Click scan and then wait for box to appear. You will see the document or photo being saved and the blue bar will display progress in the HP screen.
Save the file if the HP software has not already done this for you. Put it in a folder you create and give it a name you will remember.
Then click "Save"to finalize it. The document should be in the folder that you designated.
Repeat the process for multiple pages. Keep the HP Solution Center screen open until your scans are finished.

My kodak scanner won't scan but will print pictures


connect ur printer to ur computer and then try to scan any document or plug in any memory card and then press scan .it will ask u to save the file after scanning, save it on computer. ur issue will be resolved

While setting up user registrsation for scan to pc beteween kyocera 8030 and dsektop pc i receive message unnamed file and invalid path


Reinstall the scanner and follow the on screen directions. That should solve your problem, Alternatively define the path\folder where you want to save your sans to and make it the Default Folder(generally My Pictures in My Documents. Save it with a specific name(your choice) and see if can retrieve the scan and then you can do anything you may want to once you know the location of the scanned image......sodeep

green button-START COLoUR COPY BUTTON.....place a documnet on scanner glass...press this button..u would get colur copies of the document

Black button-START BLACK COPY BUTTON.....place a documnet on scanner glass...press this button..u would get black copies of the document

white button on the left hand side-paper feed button..to load paper into the paper feed tray

white button the right...not sure:)....i guess it should be the scan button....
