My portable dvd player requires region 1 whats that?, it plays others dvds, exept the ones my dvd vcr records,,pleas help
Dvds are coded differently depending on which region of the world they are intended for. there are eight regions - check this link for more info; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=502554 this was a pointless idea that was supposed to limit video piracy, but only actually causes problems and increased production costs The US is in region 1, so the problem is the settings on your dvd/vcr as to what region it is coding the discs as. You may be able to change this in one of the menus, but it may be designed for only one region code output. Check the manual - if you need a manual or have trouble then please post the make and model of your dvd vcr recorder and we can try to help Hope this helps you :)
