Question about Refrigerators

2 Answers

New refridgerator delivered this morning to replace the same model that was a lemon. The fridge is making a sound on the fridge side. When I open the door to the freezer side the sound stops. When I close the freezer door the sound starts in the fridge side again. It's a sound that is loud and I've never heard before.

Sounds like you may have a faulty air damper. some of the tick and others sound like a helicopter. this is quite common on whirlpool, kitchenaid and maytag fridges. the mfg. did come up with a revised version of the damper and since your fridge should be under warranty, i would call a technician and have the damper control replaced.

My refrigerator turns on and off i hear clicking sound.the compressor dont stops and then after a few seconds it runs again

my parents have a ge refridgerator tfx27e that is not cooling as of this morning. we had repair place out and they said the compressor is bad. per his words, he tested it and said electric is going to the compressor, but when it tries to turn on, something inside is stopping it so it won't run, needs new compressor.

the issue is, this is in a custom kitchen and the fridge has wood paneling on the front and matches everything nicely. i'm afraid a new fridge will never work with the panels made for this one?

it it worth fixing? i'm also pretty handy, but the repair guy said it's a 5 hour job. advice?

Side by side refridgerator part too warm

Make sure the small door between the freezer and fridge is open. It should be at the top towards the rear on the wall between the fridge and freezer. Thermostat controls its open/closing. And make sure freezer is in fact freezing and you don't just have residual cold in it. Freezer should be about 0 dertees.

I turned the fridge side off on mine, and left it overnight (last night!). This morning there is frozen stuff in the freezer. I think the compressor motor just needed ALOT of time to cool down b4 it would work properly again
