there is a cd-less install or Greenlight technology in it. it will automatically startup once you open a browser, (preferably IE. However, if you don't see it, try pushing the reset button at the back of the unit for 30 sec. open IE, then you will see the installation page. yeah a better modem would be the easiest thing to do because it's clear that the one you've got is either not transmtting properly or is just the unit you'vee got has a fault in it
Apparently you have to reset it while it's on. Also, I didn't hold down the reset button long enough.
