Question about HP OfficeJet 6110 All-In-One InkJet Printer

My hp office jet 6110 all in one will not allow my hp pavilion dv 5000 to initiate a scan from the "director". I have reinstalled the drivers that came with the printer several times and of course restarted my laptop several times (both with the printer on and off). Any Ideas?

    Thanks for your speedy reply MIke. I am sorry I was not more clear, the DV5000 is the model number of my HP pavilion laptop that is connected to the hp office jet priter. the 6110 officejet is selected as my default printer.



    The printing functonality works great. It is just the scanning that is having issues.

Hi greggcowley, having two HP's connected or bouncing between either you need to change the default printer before using either. Open printer and faxes. You'll see only one device has a check mark on it. So before you go to use the 6110 left click on it once, than click File & set to default printer. Same for the DV 5000. Each time you'll need to open printer & faxes & change the default printer/scanner.

    Forget my other answer.

    I have come across this issue before. You can call HP all day long & it will not help. You can uninstall & reinstall & it will not help.

    When windows was installed it failed to install some basic HP files within system32 folder. I had no choice but to install windows again. (Scanner failed to function) HP 5500 series.

    Once windows was re-installed the printer functioned just fine including the scanner. That is the difference between your Pavilion DV 5000 & the Dell OS. Back up your data & reinstall the OS (Fresh preferred). I'am 100% sure this will work.

    It worked for me.

HP Office Jet 7210 Scanner won't work


Try this simple step,

Disconnect the power cord from back of printer ( while printer is on )
wait for 10 seconds and connect it back
let the printer Initialize and Try to scan.

IF this does not work, you probably just need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

Windows 7 cant see my hp 6110


1st You download Printer Driver. HP Office Jet Printer Driver After this install the Printer driver in the system.
Installation of Printer Driver
  • Go to the control panel
  • Click on the System Icon
  • Click on the Hardware Tab
  • Click on the Device Manager then
  • Select the Unknown Device or printer device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
  • Right click on it and uninstall it.
  • After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
  • Driver installation Wizard start.
  • Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
  • Driver will be install.

simply installoffice 2003 and there will be microsoft office tools select microsoft office document scanning select scan new document.....first of all u have to install printer drivers my dear friend

Hi,

Before scanning from the printer front panel, make sure your Solution Center is properly installed. Try scanning from the Solution Center first. The status of the printer should say ready before scanning.

- Actually there are two kinds of CD of the printer, one is the Basic driver CD, wherein you can do basic printing and scanning and the other one is the Full Feature drvier CD, wherein all hp printer software is in including the hp director... maybe you only have a basic driver... i'll give you this site to download the driver of the Full feature software.. this is free. you can also place your order here if you really want a CD... but this download software is equivalent with the content of the CD...

- select your operating system becuase you did not specified your OS.
- then under driver options select the full feature software driver for your printer
- then next page.. do not select install now or download only because it takes time to perform the process just select file name then select run to start the download

Hp 6110 all in one hp director not working.


try to do the following:

1. Double-click the HP Director icon to load the program into the memory. You will not see HP Director open at this step. Do not click anything else on the screen until Step 2 is completed.

2. Press the Alt key and the Space bar together, and then
select Minimize from the menu that displays in the upper left corner of the window. If necessary, click it again until HP Director minimizes.

The HP Director software now appears as an item on the Task Bar .

3. Click HP Director on the Task Bar . The software opens and displays normally.

4. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 every time the HP Director software is used.

  1. Go to the HP Software Download Page .
  2. In the Enter a product number text box, type the printer model, and then press Enter .
  3. Under Product search results , select the printer model.
  4. Select the operating system.
  5. Under Update , click Critical update to resolve an issue with HP Director after installing Internet Explorer 7 .
  6. Follow the instructions that display on the screen to install the update.
Cause:
In October 2006, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7. The HP Director software that shipped with some HP products introduced between 2002 and 2004 may not be compatible with Internet Explorer 7. The HP Solution Center software, which replaced HP Director software, does not exhibit this issue with Internet Explorer 7.
