Question about Gateway Belkin 54g Wireless DSL/Cable Router (DHF5D72304)
First make sure you can see the router in your Available Networks. You can do this by double clicking the Networks icon at the bottom right hand corner of your screen.
If you can see the router on the list, double click on it, and if it is unsecured, then you should be able to connect to the internet. If it is 'secured', then you have to enter the Username and Password to gain access.
Or you could type 184.108.40.206 into your internet browser URL box on the laptop. This will ask for the same Username and Password. The default Username is usually 'admin' and the default password is usually 'password' (or 1234 on older models). If successful, you should be able to see the routers settings, and diagnose if your router is properly connected to the internet. If it seems to be connected, and the Username and Password are being entered properly into the laptop when you try to connect to a network, then it can only mean that the laptop's wireless card/adapter is not configured properly on the laptop.
I hope that helps :)
