Question about Breadmakers

1 Answer

I have a Toastmaster 1185 Breadmaker that the paddle won't turn. If I take the bottom off, the wheel does turn. It's like it's not telling it to turn.

Can you make a 1 pound or a 1 1/2 pound loaf of bread in the Toastmaster 1185 which is a 2 pound loaf machine?

You can make 1.5 lb. loaves for sure. If your pan is the vertical type with one paddle then you can also make the smaller 1 pound loaves.

The gears underneath are frozen and won't turn the paddle inside the pan. Is there anyway to unfreeze the gears. It appears that the gear grease has all oozed out and the gears underneath are fused and...

The gear grease you are referring to is from the sealed bearing on the bottom of the pan. This has failed and will not allow the paddle to rotate. There is no replacement parts, and a new bread pan is needed. Sorry..Hank.

Kneading blade will not cone out toastmaster 1171

I also had a breadmaker where the paddle didn't want to come out. (I acquired it that way.) After trying to take it apart, using a pliers (wrapped a cloth around the paddle), squirting WD-40, and a few other things, I finally had my male friend try getting it loose. He finally did, using the pliers with a cloth around the paddle. After that incident, I oil all of my paddles (cooking oil or butter). I buy and sell bread makers so I've had dozens but only one with that problem. Usually, soaking does the trick. Hope this helps.

Breadmaker toastmaster 1183

sorry no luck with a free online manual but if you don't mind paying then you could get a manual here. http://stores.ebay.com/The-Breadmaker-Guru_Toastmaster-Breadmaker-Manuals_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZQ2d1QQfsubZ6704557QQftidZ2QQtZkm Best I can think of for removing the dough bade is to pour boiling water on it, leave it to soak for a bit then empty the water out and try and pull it off while hot (gloves).if no luck then try doing the same with iced water with some ice to try and cool it down really quickly. Hope this helps :)
