Question about Canon PIXMA MP800R All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

My Pixma MP800A shows an error code 6A00. The ink cartridges do not move when the printer is turned on. I tried sliding the cartridges to the left, reseated the ink cartridges, and then pushed it all the way back to the right to reposition it. Still no luck after turning it off and back on again.

I have the same problem with my MP800R. Replaced empty ink tank with a new one as normal, this time carriage travelled to the right and stayed there.  Cannot move it, switched on/off, unplugged  etc.  Nothing.  The error message is the same as csobering. e.g: 6A00.  The only thing I did differently this time was to use a 'compatible' cartridge and not a Canon one.  But I think I have used these replacements before without any problem, but I cannot be absolutely sure.

    Any suggestions please?

    Regards

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Error code 6A00 appears on by screen, I have shut power down and moved printer head left to right and truned back on.

You could mail it to a repair facility, which is what Canon recommends. If you want to try and fix it yourself, you could remove the ink and re-insert it. If you have any cans of compressed air, spraying some around the paper feed and ink slots could help.

Error Code 6A00, printer not working MP830

Move you ink heads out of the way and look inside, you will see the waste ink sponges and a little white plastic flap that may be jammed in position, wiggle it a little to free it and then continue to move it to make sure its free. This should solve it for you.

Getting error code 6A00-Canon PIXMA MX850 all-in-one printer

The error indicates that the slide the cartridges run on has debris buildup or a component of the printer is blocking the cartridges ability to slide.

Steps to fix...
1. Unplug printer from power source
2. Slide the cartridges to the middle and inspect the slide for a buildup of "gunk" or pieces of debris. Remove what you see and clean the slide with a lint free rag and isopropyl alcohol
3. Look for any part of the printer that may have become dislodged or moved from vibaration and use and try to put it back in to place.
4. Get some "canned air" at any computer or office supply store and blow the printer out thoroughly.
Plug the printer back in and it should work again.

Canon MP830 error code 6A00

HI,

Please the pixma off and open the lid.Now manually slide the cartridge-tray to the left.

Use a piece of tissue to clean the base-pad where the heads are stored.See if it is stuck in a kind of upward position and look if the mechanism that moves the tray is released if not then touch it and it will be loose. Remove all ink residue, move the tray back to its most right position and close everything.

Let me know if you still get the same error.

Thank you

My printer shows an error code--6A00. I have checked and can find no paper jams--I have turned it off for extended for past 24 hours and code still appears. I can not reposition ink cartridges as they do...

With the printer off there is no reason why the printhead with the ink cartridges will not slide across the platen. It seems like that is your problem if you cannot manually move the printhead. Turn the power off and then move it.

My Printer says error code 6A00 What do i do?

Try this especially if the printer had not been used for some time.
Switch it off, open the lid and manually (GENTLY!)slide the cartridge-tray to the left. Then you can see if a piece of paper or ink stucks it. Gently degunk the base pad with a little isopropyl alcohol on a Q-tip and ease the mechanism back.

Error Code 6A00

I have the Canon Pixma iP4000R printer. I had an error code of 6A00 and my power light was blinking/flashing green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange-green-orange (12 oranges).

I tried the “waste ink counter reset reset” procedure: Power on while holding the stop/reset button and pushing the service button twice, then pushing the stop/rest button 4 times to clear the error, but that didn’t work.

My ink cartridge carrier wasn't moving-staying in the center. I thought I had a paper jam.

I looked at a few blogs about my error on other Canon Pixma models and they kept talking about “sponges”.

The following is what I discovered that cleared my error and now my printer is back to printing!

The “sponges” are 2 hard pieces of absorbing plastic or something of the like. I was looking for a softer material like the long thin gray foam strip material in my printer. The 2 "sponges" on my Pixma iP4000R were next to each other-one was rectangular and one was square-like. Originally they were white but the ink made them black/navy.

The "sponges" are located on the right under where the ink cartridge carrier "rests".

I didn't see the sponges at first, as there was a white backwards “L” shaped plastic piece that had a spring attached to it. The “L” shaped piece was moved forward out of its place. I used my pen tip and pushed that piece back and found that the rectangular "sponge" had popped out of its place.

I used a pen tip popped both “sponges” out and rinsed them with water and voila they were once again white. I think the rectangular one had so much ink on it it popped itself out of place.

My error is gone and I can print again!
