Go to www.hp .com then to the "drivers" link at the top of the site. put in your " model # " located on the back of your computer tower ex: (a305w). then select your operating system. look for the driver "realtek" (i may have spelled that wrong) click the install link. after you've installed the driver restart your computer. then you should have sound. thanks

You press Start > Control Panel > System >System Devices > Sound Controllers
double click on the listing in there and click Driver.
You should be able to install it from there, by letting the Device Installer find it on your computer. (If you downloaded the correct driver for your sound card, then it may be a zip file. you have to unzip this first. just double click it and press Extract all, you have to do this before you do anything at the device manager.)
it should install ok and may need a reboot

hope this helps

Right click 'My Computer' choose Properties, Click on the hardware tab, then click Device Manager. Find your device, possibly under Multimedia Controller or Unknown device. Once you found the device that is your soundcard, right click it and choose Update Driver. Choose Advanced install and "Specify driver location" Then browse to the directory you extracted the contents of the file you downloaded from HP. Follow the prompts and if it is the correct driver you will have sound.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

If the NIC card is built-in you need to buy a seperate NIC card that can be inserted to the PCI-e slots of your computer's motherboard

Have an hp a305w pavillion powers up but nothing on the screen, tried f10 an nothing happened. Its as if the monitor isn't receiving a signal.

Disconnect all cables, remove all cards and memory. Reinstall one stick of ram, power cord, video cable and keyboard. If that works reinstall other components one at a time. I found a hp a1600n at the dump. Brought it home, had same problem, tried this. A memory stick was loose. Resetting it fixed it. I am typing on it now. You might try the memory first. A chip could have gone bad.Are you using the board video or a video card?

Were can i get a vidio card and sound card and ether card for a hp pavilion a305w

If you need drivers, they are available at the hp website, if your computer really doesn't have a sound card or a video card then you would need to buy them from a shop and install them inside the computer, one shop for example is www.newegg.com

If you have the devices then you need the drivers instead not something to put inside your computer.

Above is some HP info on how to do it if you are not too up on these things...

If you want to do a little troubleshooting hit this above and select you operating system (XP or Vista)
As far as purchasing a new sound card and say you only want to run 2.1 speaker (2 speakers front-1subwoofer) then there is the fancier ones that you can go up to (5.1,7.1) total surround sound, and they can get pretty costly...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000290057%201101108499&name=4&ActiveSearchResult=True

this link above will take you to Newegg, a great-reasonable place to shop-and fast, usually 1to2 days max.
the first sound card is inexpensive, the only thing you should be careful of is to make sure it will work with your Operating System
XP or Vista...other than that you are wide open for selection.
I would pick the Diamond at about $20

Sound Card

that sound card is unlikely to work with xp..those are 2000 machines, and the chipsets aren't that flexible. you may need to change sound card too, to one compatible with xp(like soundblaster).
